Hey ladies!

I'm planning our honeymoon/one year anniversary/babymoon :) trip to Bora Bora next June...has anyone been there and can you give me any feedback or info?

We're planning to stay at the InterContinental Thalasso & Spa and also at the St. Regis.

Thank you!

Hi Kamilla,

We're planning to spend a few days in LA too before heading to Bora Bora. We're only staying in Bora Bora because I think its so beautiful that we might as well spend our whole time there. :) I couldn't decide on a resort so I decided to pick two. I knew I had to stay at the InterContinental Thalasso but we got a great deal for the St. Regis so we're staying there too. Four Seasons is also really nice. Please share pictures if you decide to stay there. When are you guys planning to go? We're going the end of next June.

how exciting you will love it... We went in March for our honeymoon and stayed 10 nights at the Hilton Moorea and 10 Nights at the St Regis Bora Bora.. They are both so different.. We stayed in a premium over water bungalow at both hotels and am dreaming about the day we will return.I have alot of pictures of the hotel room etc... if you want to send me your email address I would be happy to share them with you....and give you a good idea of what rooms you should request? Any reason why you are thinking of the Intercon in Moorea?

Moorea is breathtaking... and is actually my favorite out of the two but the St Regis is amazing.. In a perfect world the St Regis in Moorea would be the best of the best! In Moorea the water is crystal clear with tons of fish, coral and underwater life and only about 5 feet deep of our your villa. In Moorea you can venture outside of the hotel and dine at some great restaurants. In Bora Bora the water is completly flat an aqua almost like a big gigantic pool but not crystal clear like Moorea and only a few fish, rays and sharks amd its about 10 feet deep off of your villa..We dove 4 times in both islands and loved it but Moorea hands down was the best! The St. Regis Bora Bora is on its own little island so you really dont need to leave the resort much.. The service is first class and the villas are breathtaking.. The food is great although we did go to dinner one night at the Le Meridian next door just to switch it up a bit and realized quick we should have never left our paradise...We did visit the Intercon in Moorea however the Hilton Moorea overwater villas were just renovated and much nicer and they also had a much larger beach. The Intercon was a nice hotel we had dinner there one evening however in my opinion its a little too touristy with the dolphins experience and everything? Not really a true French Polynesia property but beautiful! I actually am in the hotel business so unfortunatly I am a little more judgemental than most sorry... I am happy to answer any questions and super jealous of your upcoming stay!

ajncooter - I am staying at the Hilton in Moorea for my honeymoon in May. I am staying in the new garden bungalows that have a private pool. Did you by chance see those during your stay?? Do you have any restaurant or execursion recommendations?

ida - I am also going to Bora Bora after Moorea and will be staying at the IC Thalasso. It looks beautiful!!! Can't wait :)

Thanks so much for the info! I will private msg you my email so you can show me some pics. :) You are sooo lucky to be able to afford 10 nights in Moorea and 10 nights in Bora Bora!!! We're only staying in Bora Bora cuz we're only going for a week. I'm only going there because i love tropical places and Bora Bora is so exotic and i love the scenery and different shades of blue... We're staying at the Intercontinental Thalasso and the St. Regis in Bora Bora and have halfboard included daily for both resorts. I'm really looking forward to the canoe breakfast! cheesy.gif

hey AJ!

Thanks so much for the pics! i can't wait to go...i'm just dreaming of it right now! lol. I'm soo jealous you're going to seychelles and mauritius!! I was looking into Maldives before Bora Bora but its just so damn far! And probably super expensive too but Bora Bora is not that much cheaper...lol. I couldn't convince my husband to fly that far to the Maldives...but its ok cuz i love Bora Bora too. As long as i get to go to one of these beautiful islands i'm happy! :)

i wish i had taken a quick to trip to Mauritius while i was in South Africa. I don't think we'll get to travel much after next year cuz we plan to start a family. We're also going to Hawaii next November so he says I'm pushing it with the travels. :P i just love to travel!!

Share pics from your trip! When are you going?

  • 2 weeks later...

i will definitly share our pictures.. i know convincing my hubby to take the flight wasnt easy but it will be worth it in the long run.. It actually isnt anymore expensive than our trip to Moorea and Bora Bora just a longer flight with a stopover in Dubai. This will also probably be our last big international trip as we will also be trying for a family soon as my time is ticking so they say hahahah. where are you guys staying in hawaii?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
