Hi yes you do have to pay extra unfortunetly for guests not staying at the resort. It depends on which package you picked. For example we are doing the ultimate luxury and its $30 per person if they are staying at the real resort if not it is $60 per person for those not staying at real resorts. Again the rate varies depending on the package yoou picked.

So if you don't want the orange candles what is the other choice? The orange would clash with my colors. Also, do they put the palms up at the beach reception? We just some some photos from Del Sol that they were used and they are fabulous.
I asked the very same question! :) I was told that was the only option. Other wise you can do the hurricane which have white candles. I thought they looked beautiful. However I noticed in the most recent wedding in the pictures the candles are white?

Yes they do put the palms up at the beach reception and I must say they do a beautiful job. Every set up had them.

Hi Lady Di,

I am sorry I do not want to be discouraging in any way but it really was that bad. Especially at that part of the beach. It is the main entrance because the beach is public and tons of people are passing in and out through there. Also the pier is right there. At 4pm is when all the boats to Cozumel come back to pick up the people. Literally we saw hundreds of people waking through.

It was so rude I thought that all these people were turning there chairs to face and watch the wedding and on top of that topless!!

We had our site visit in the morning so I am really happy we went back in the afternoon to see for ourselves. Also I am not sure if this varies during different times of the year. Zulma told us May, June and November is their high season for weddings.

It is hard to say where it would be best because the entire beach was packed with people. I'm sorry sad.gif it really depends on preferance for this one I think.

Welcome back Tracy!!! your pictures were beautiful, your wedding looked awsome!

Question we just got back from our site visit and they told us the only option was orange candles on the table? However I saw in your pictures you had white? Did the resort supply them?

Thanks so much for your honest answer. Sigh, I really wish I researched this more than just letting Kimberly picking the location for us.

Hi Bmlynch, we did not see this set up while we were down there but you could definetly do it. We were actually looking into this option as well but unfortunetly the restaurant is much to small for 100 people.

The restaurant is really nice however even though it is right infront of the beach you can't really see the beach. They have the big bed cabanas blocking the view and if there is another wedding going on they have these white sails up. Also in order to get to the beach you have to go back through the pool area, down the a walk wa, take a right and than your there.

The setup that they do is absolutely beautiful! if you do it at the restaurant how are you setting up the beach?

By the way ladies there is a place right near the Royal on 5th called the Cigar factory. They offer cigar rollers and other services. We ended up getting three boxes of cigars and a box of small choclate and vanilla cigars for the ladies. They were personalize the boxes and the bands for you with you initials and wedding date. For three boxes of 25 and two boxes of 10 of the small ones with the personalization it is $400. They offer all diffrent rates depending on what you get an how much.

Hi Lady Di,

I went in august for a site visit and we too are having our reception at the beach area near Pelicanos. We were given that location because of the size of our wedding, about 60 people. I can honestly say im fine with that location. Yea there are people walking and its an open beach but our cocktail hour starts at 5:30pm (cermeony in gazebo at 5pm), most people begin to get out of the beach area and by dark time, its really almost empty. I think if we do have some "lookers" so be it. I won't be paying attention to them. I just wanted to give you my thoughts about that location because it is the biggest beach area...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
