Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

They basically fill out an excel form with your wedding details and e-mail it to you. I think I had mine back within a few days. When I met with Claudia this week she said they have almost 40 weddings in the month of November. She is very kind and organized, but with that kind of work load I am guessing she just forgot to send it back to you. I would send her an e-mail.

About a month ago i filled out a wedding request form with Claudia and the next day she wrote me back telling me she would prepare our wedding contract...and nothing....

Does it usually take this long to recieve the contract?? I don't want to bother her with emails because i realize how busy she is but i'm starting to get concerned. Does she send the contract through regular mail or email??

If anyone can help ease my mind that'd be great!

Thanks ladies!
I would get a calling card to make sure that everything is getting done. The contract basically reserves your date/time, so it's important that you have that settled. The only way I got anywhere with Cecilia was by phone. Once I knew she had the deposit and the date and time squared away, I was relieved and now I'm just going to wait until our meeting to make final decisions.

Do you happen to have a # for her?? I'm going to wait a couple days for her to get back to me but after that i'm going to call her.

Thanks :)

Does anyone have anything [pics, info, brides who have done it] about a ceremony on the beach here? I've had no luck googling, searching this forum, or getting a return e-mail from the resort :o( The gazebo is beautiful, but I am not going to Mexico to get married without my feet in the sand, haha. Thanks!

Ughhh....still no word from Claudia on our wedding contract yet!! I've written her another email so HOPEFULLY i hear back in the next couple of days or i think i will be switching venues...sad.gif I really don't want it to come to that but its been a month and no word. I've called & emailed after giving her basically a full month to get it together. If it is this hard to get in touch with her to GIVE her money to get this ball rolling, then i can't imagine it would be any better throughout the planning of everything...sad.gif

That sucks!! I would definately keep calling back. Don't use the extension just call the main number: 011 52 998 848 7000. When the person answers tell them you are calling from America (they jump at that) and you need to speak with Claudia (necesito hablar con Claudia). Once you get over the language barrier at the front desk, Claudia and Cecilia both speak english. Also if they put you through to her voice mail, don't leave a message. Call back and ask for Cecilia. One of them is always there.

I will say that unfortunately to have a wedding at Dreams, you have to really let go. I have had several questions that are not answered. They just DO NOT EVER answer emails. I finally just had to take a deep breath and trust that they know what they're doing. The reviews I've read on this forum are very good, and the brides always say the same thing: no communication before the wedding, but amazing execution once you are there.

Good luck!! Let me know if you need me to translate anything, I can type it phonetically for you.

Aww Don't give up! We all had to go through it..Believe me. I spent alot of time freaking out in the begining. Getting your contract is really important, so I would take the advice from Carolina above me :) Call the main number.
Once you have that contract.....Use this forum for Questions and save the rest for when you are sitting with your Wedding Co-Ordinator. You will plan your wedding in 10 minutes and Dreams is SOOO worth it :)

Hang in there..I know this part is rough, but once you have that date set & contract in hand, you will be well on your way!: )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
