Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

I also will be bring a ipod too. I have thought about shipping some speakers to Mexico so we do not have to bring them with us on the plane. Then I will just hope it is loud enough. My fiance has speakers and a p.a system. Now I just need to find something I trust enough to act like they are our d.j.

So no worries :)

Have you decided where your going to have your reception? Ana has made me feel a lot better and so did speaking with you on Facebook. My biggest concern was the music. I am having a DJ and I asked ANa if are reception is right next to each others (which it will be if mine is at the deck and yours is by the pool) would the music be a problem. I know we're both going to have an amazing day no matter what.

Other brides on this forum have also bought Boze docking speakers... which I hope will be loud enough?
I also was under the impression that it was $180/hour for the speakers...I think because the sound system has to be operated by a "technician"? I am almost positive Ana told me $180/hour. I was thinking about getting Bose speakers. A friend of mine told me her neighbor has them and they are pretty loud and good quality.

The chooses are beach, pool terrace, deck, desire terrace.

I just can not decide if you have decided on where please let me know and why.
I still haven't decided that either. I am waiting to hear from either people who have done site visits or brides who have had their wedding there. I am curious to hear which ones are the most private and have the best atmosphere. Good topic though. What has everyone else been hearinghuh.gif

I will have to ask ana during my visit. I was probably going to use an ipod for the ceremony music as I don't think I will play the traditional wedding song. I haven't figured it all out yet though. Maybe I will have someone play during dinner too.

Is anyone getting a DJ? I was planning on it, but wondered if that seems weird with only 30 people. What is everyone else doing?
I think I am still getting a DJ. I want everyone to be able to have fun even though I am only expecting like 40 people. So I am counting on a DJ

We are thinking the pool terrace, but what/where is the desire terrace?

I am not quite sure where the desires club is located at in the resort. By the terrace is outside of the desires club. Ana sent me a picture of it. It was not decorated so it did not look that pretty but I can see potential.
Email me at megjps420@yahoo.com and I will send you the picture Ana sent me if you would like.

I'll also try to get pictures of the various reception, cocktail, and ceremony locations when I am down there in 2 weeks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
