Dreams Punta Cana Brides

jmcaulay, that dress is beautiful, as someone said, simple but very elegant! I bought mine off the rack too, isn't it such a relief?

Tam I think that dress works perfectly for a TTD, and for the cost, wow! I bought mine through Sears, not flattering at all but it was $99 and I figure it'll be totally different when wet!

Regarding the gazebo vs. beach, we chose the gazebo. We think it's beautiful, and to be honest, when we visited, I wasn't a HUGE fan of the beach. We've been a lot of places, and DPC is not my favourite of those beaches, which is too bad, because I REALLY wanted to get married on the beach! But for the extra $$ it costs too, we decided we really liked the gazebo. In terms of decorations, we are not using the red carpet they have there, and I think I'll just use some fake flower petals along the aisle. I thought about using some white tulle to wrap around the first 2 pillars, but I don't know who would be the one braving the ladder to get to the top of the pillars, so I think I'll leave as is.

Thanks for the links to the linen sites, their prices are amazing! I think I'm going to go with the hot pink table runners and sashes. Has anyone started working on a seating chart? For anyone with 30-40 guests, are you doing a head table?

OMG Jocy that story sounds awful! I actually had a nightmare of a time with the seamstress for my prom dress, and I ended up ironically enough buying my wedding dress from the same store. I will definitely not be using the seamstress they recommend, she was a total b*tch and even had the nerve to tell me the dress would "probably" be ready by prom night... AHHH IT BETTER BE!! lol

Glad to hear your koozies came in though :) Thats a plus!

jmcauley: love love love your dress, its gorgeous! so simple. thats how i went with my dress! I tried on all those puffy dresses too with the detail and beading and i had to laugh at everyone because it wasn't me and I was drowning in them! hahaha! I ended up choosing the most simple dress which was waay more flattering and it was actually under my dress budget so now i get so spend more on the jewelery and head peice!! yay!!

is that a dreams photo you got for the beach wedding ceremony?? it looks beautiful. So the sashes on the chairs, you ladies will be buying at home and taking them to the DR to get put on the chairs? Sounds like a good idea. I wasn't planning on doing anything like that but it looks gorgeous! what about that aisle border??

Jennifer,
I am not planning on having it look quite like that, my sashes are black organza.. I actually just thought about what colour tulle to have on the chuppah... didn't really think black would be good for that.. maybe just have white tulle with the chairs being white and then for the reception use my black table runners and sashes... hmmm gotta think about that. I did buy hot pink flower petals to use down the aisle and on my tables...

I really need to figure out how to post pics to show you guys...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
