now I have several questions ( can you tell I've been just dying to ask these questions?)

1. Where did you have your rehearsal dinner and what was the set up? Just tables set in a circle? What was the food you asked for? It looked scrumptious.

**we had the rehersal dinner on the beach it was beautiful!! the food was in a buffet style and was awesome! everyone was super happy w the food, they had a chicken, meat, fish and veggies so something for everyone!

Did you have music hooked up?

**not for the rehersal dinner

2. Did you have a dance floor at the reception?

**we didnt do a big reception, just the cocktail hour w hot appetizers and they brought the bar to the beach . again the food was plenty to fill everyone up. I used the flowers from my the chair aisles for ceter pieces and it worked out great!

3. How much did you have to pay for the flowers on the cake?

**i highly suggest waiting until you get there to get the flowers! I too was quoted prices from amber and they were out of control expensive. So i took the same pixs to my wc on site and she ordered the .... the cake topper was $45.00 and i had them decorate the standard cake w the "pearls" on the layers, they didnt charge me extra. I think you have a couple of options for the free cake

I just spent an hour with Amber tody and they are charging so much for flowers that are not martha stewart's.The cake is also 2 tiered square and plain , not even with a trim like yours.

**we were quoted for flowers.... (this is crazy)

my bouquette 450.... paid 220

moh bouquette 350.... paid 100

center pieces/ railing decor 4x 150 each ..... paid 4x 45 each

boutineer 50 each ..... paid 30 each

And i used the exact same pictures to show the WC on site that i emailed to Amber. Thats over $1000 difference!!

4. Did you have the option of going to the night club- liquid - after the reception? I notice you went to RIcks and was wondering if the night club is lame.

**we really wanted to goto Ricks after which was probably not the best choice only because I had grander expectations of what it was going to be like, I assumed it was going to be really busy, fun live reggee music so we rented the 2 private cabanas. well it turned out there was no one there when we arrived, the place was empty (i think they were annoyed we even showed up....) So we spent 900 there on cabana's, drinks and more food and we could have stayed at the resort (it would be the only real regret i have). BUT we did go back the next day for sunset and cliff diving and it was GREAT!! Liquid is ok, its small, im not really a "club" girl but my friends that went had a great time.

**dont stress!! the WC on site is awesome, Nickesha Greenfield. I even called her before I went and she is so calming and so great at her job. She makes sure it all happens just perfect!!

Thanks.

Lots more to come for you and Sherri.

Lots of questions but I need answers, I'm so worried!!!

Thanks Keila for answering all the questions we've had!! I think it's just the "fear of the unknown" that makes us a little crazy sometimes, lol. It's just so different planning a wedding from thousands of miles away where you are completely trusting someone else to make everything perfect. While part of the allure of a DW is "stress-free" planning, I think we've all discovered that's not always the case :)

sandals/Beaches has asked me to address the issue of teh difference in pricing for the posters flowers- yes, ladies they do monitor the boards as do many other resorts!

The brides post actually caused quite a stir as the pricing is suppose to be identical whether you get it from the Miami coordinators or at the resort- they are one team and the pricing that your Miamia coordinators receive come directly from the resort!!

The bride who posted her prices left out a couple of details such as the they were two completely different bouquets and not the same exact ones- original quote was from a photo she sent, the ones she purchased at the resort were from the floral catalogue, so yes the prices would be compeletly different! It wasn't an apples to apples comparison!

If you know what you want and have your heart set on getting it then I still highly encourgae you to pre book for several reasons- it provides you the esae of having it done prior and you know that you will get exactly what you want (most flowers are imported so if the florist doesn't have what you really wanted and you didn't pre order you are out of luck!) , or you can work with the WC to make it fit your budget prior to going to the islands, that way you don't get caught up in the moment while at the resort and seeing all the beautiful choices - plus it saves time while you are at the resort!

thats odd because I printed out the exact same pictures of everything I emailed to Amber and showed them to the WC at the site. If you look at my bouquette there is nothing similiar to it in the catalogue!

I was in no way trying to stir up anything espically with Amber, I have been fully supportive of her and loved her.

The WC at the resort called the florist while i was in her office and explained what I wanted and followed up by giving her the picture. The bouquette was very unique.

The same with the bouts and the MOH bouquet and aisle flowers.

Since I sent the same exact pictures to Amber that I printed out and took with me (why would I change my mind on the flowers I was wanting huh.gif) how could it not have been apples to apples? And I never stated a price I wanted to keep with in .....

Hey I was just trying to give some advice from my experience sorry for any trouble!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
