Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

WHAT A RELIEF!! I too received an email today......clearly stating that we can use Claudia. I am so happy that we can finally relax and feel confident that someone will take pictures on our wedding day.

Thanks for the support ladies.......and way to stand your ground!

Sorry dewiggy.......I think it could be near impossible. Now that their new policy is in effect, I don't see them making exceptions for anyone. We had booked Claudia PRIOR to their new policy and it was a BATTLE to keep her.

Not many resorts allow outside photoraphers anymore. You could always consider hiring Claudia to take photos off the resort somewhere (she just wouldn't be able to photograph the ceremony or reception). Just a thought! Good luck.

I know it is in an older post....but this is a long one and I can't recall how far back. Did someone do the private reception by the pool? We cannot get into the hacienda to dance until after midnight and we want something after dinner. It is $8 for the two hours (I get the set up fees) but do we have to pay for the drinks too.....that is not clear to me.

Also, did anyone who did this bring their own ipod and just rent speakers? I don't think we need a DJ necessarily and not to be cheap, but I don't really want to pay a DJ to just stand there if we bring all our own music......

I may have the answer to a few of your questions in the next day or so, I have asked all of your questions because we are planning on doing the same thing. I don't want the cost of the DJ which is like $360 for two hours.

I'll let you know what i find out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
