PS is it good etiquette to pay for the bridesmaids' hair and makeup?
Hey BC.

I would say that traditionally, it was etiquette to pay for everything for the bridesmaids, including their hair and make-up, but times have changed and it is much more acceptable and common now for bridesmaids to pay some, or all, of their own way.

hair and make-up are the 'nice-to-haves' and can be done at no cost if they do them themselves. If you're looking at saving some money, I'd just let them know in advance you won't be paying for them (or just tell them what you will be paying for) and then they can decide themselves if they want to pay themselves, or do it themselves.

Hope that helps...GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Katie, I think I might just pay to have their hair done, esp because I'm not sure myself if I want my makeup done at the salon. Ive asked Ana for sample pics of the MUA's work, I'm waiting to hear back from the spa manager.
Finally got the last of my RSVP's yesterday (deadline), gosh I can't believe how some people like to wait last minute! Anyway, time to order my wedding favours :)
Hope your planning is going well!

ah brilliant that you've got all your rsvps back now!! what are you doing for your wedding favours?

I've already got contingency plans in place in case I don't like how they do my hair and make up for the trial!!

my planning seems to be neverending and i'm at that point now that I don't even know where to start!!

Ah cool, I need to get some for my BMs too!!

My contingency plan is that I'm going to get my hairdresser here in the UK to do my hair for me while by BMs watch and take notes (!!) then if I hate what they do in Mexico, my BMs can do my hair for me.

Planning on doing the same for my make-up too somehow! plus one of my BM is planning on going on a make up course in March so fingers crossed that goes ahead and then she'll be able to do mine anyway!!

I NEED to have contingency plans for both or I will be worrying about 'what if i don't like it' etc the whole time beforehand. this way, I'll keep myself a little saner!!

Wow, only a month!!!!!! how exciting!! I'm now just under the 6 month mark!! xx

LOVE everyone's backup plans for hair and makeup!! LOL, I am bringing pictures of hair styles I like and then it should be easy for them. As for makeup I am not a makeup girl so I'm just worried it'll be to much for me. Luckily my MOH is a makeup artist so she can fix anything in that department I dont like. She's also doing her own makeup and my other bridesmaid! SOO EXCITED!

8 DAYS UNTIL I LEAVE!! smile29.gif

ps. Is there blowdryers in the rooms?

Lin& Scott...have a wonderful wedding!

BC Bride: great idea on the partyflops! I'm just starting to think about that sort of stuff.

Still haven't decided about going with Transat pkg or directly with hotel? Help ladies!

I'm having enough trouble trying to add a picture to my profile on here too. I wonder if I can hire a forum coordinatorwink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
