my TA is currently checking with dreams about the 6th room free deal... apple vacations already told her that a wedding negates it, but i'm hoping dreams says otherwise!

i also got some clarification from deyanira about the kids meals... the kids DO count towards your 20 people, however their meals (if they eat something different from everyone else) will bring down the cost of the reception a little bit as kids meals are 1/2 price.

she is checking for me on whether or not we can have cupcakes instead of a cake too... i hope they say it's okay!

i also asked her about moving my chair sashes from the ceremony to the reception while we're taking pictures. she didn't quite answer the question i wanted, but she did send me a picture of the different colors of linens that they offer. i will post the picture if anyone wants to see, but in my opinion they colors aren't nearly as bright as what you can get online and their prices are SO much higher!
Hey E, thats great news about the kids bringing down the cost for the reception, we have 10 kids on our list, so that helps.

as for the chair sashes, I would hope they would move them because I think it would be crazy to buy seperate chair sashes for the ceremony and the reception. I've seen there colors and couldn't find anything I actually liked either lol... and I definitley don't want to pay for something I don't like.

as for the free room ... I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying that it works out it shouldn't matter if you are having a wedding or not, we are still a group coming together, and we actually spend more money than the average group because we are holding a private event that cost extra money on top of the already all inclusive plan, they should always give free rooms to the bride and groom with a group of 10 or more geeezzzzzz

They should really be helping you guys out because you are bringing a group for your wedding! Weddings ARE groups most often, so they should get extra perks IMO!

Toya I can't believe how many you have booked!! Will you still be able to do the Himitsu terrace and gazebo with those numbers?? You are starting to push the upper limits hahaha

They better move the sashes, I haaaaate their colors... not to mention the outrageous price!

toya i completely forgot to say congrats on your huge guest count!! amazing!!

and i completely agree that we should at least get ONE free room for heaven's sake... if it weren't for these weddings they wouldn't have nearly as many guests at the resort period, especially the way the economy has been. i'm still keeping my hopes up for that one and i'll let you know if i hear anything!

hmmmm maybe I should check back with Deyanira on the gazebo, I was for sure it was 100 people lol... and the hitmatsu terrace used to say 80 but now it says 100 is the max

Thx E, I never thought my guest list would be were it is now I'm still amazed and shocked everytime i think about it. Plus I've had to cut some things out that I wanted to do since the guest list is so big, no more OOT bags, private welcome dinner or excursion for our guest. but it should be fun and exciting with all our closest friends and family

I am bringing down our centrepieces.. just simple ones which is a pain in the a$$ to take travel with but at least i like what im having.
As for gifts, I am stumped myself other than I am ordering travel mugs for everyone and trying to figure gifts for our wedding party...
so much freakin $$$!

You must be very excited! I am starting to get nervous for mine, so I can't imagine how you feel right now... are you doing a symbolic or civil?

Hey TAM

Thanks for the advice! Im super excited except I really did not think of any of the little detials yet ... not sure what im going to do about the decor. Im doing a symbolic ceremony...seems like the easy way to do it. My coordinator Carolina has been awesome so far...im still in the process of confirming menus and photography. Have you looked into the above yet?

I know you ladies were throwing around the group rates recently. The only one I've been offered by the resort is 10 rooms or more $126/p nght/ per person. min 3 night stay

Have any of you ladies signed the contract for this? I'm curious on what steps your taking to ensure this. I am still working on finding a travel agent to help me with all this stuff.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
