Ok, for those that have had their wedding already: Did you were shoes with a high heel? I am concerned that the stairs leading to the ceremony are steep adn slippery and I'd be scared to slip and fall if I wear high heel shoes.....lol.

Hi--IDEAVILA i don't come on here often but i did see your wedding date is may 10th, 2010 and that you were looking for a photographer. We are getting married at Las Caletas on may 5th. We felt the prices that were part of the package at Las Caletas were too expensive as well, so we ended up booking a photographer from Portland. He used to live in Puerto Vallarta and has done about 15-20 weddings at Las Caletas. Nicole at Adventure weddings highly recommends him as well. anyways, to get to the point-- his 7 hour package is only $700 which includes a dvd of 400-600 pictures with about a third being done in black and white. we had to pay for his airfare which was $375 form portland to mexico and then $20 for the 3 days he'll be there as per diem

I had the same concern about heels on the stairs and sand. My hubby is a lot taller than I am and kept telling that heels were a must...he is crazy though.

I ended up getting platform flip flops (similar to this link: Victoria's Secret - Wide strap flip-flop)

I got nervous right at the end to even walk down the stairs in those! so i had nicole set them at the bottom of the stairs (or the ones coming from the bridal casita) for me and I was going to put them on...well I forgot! I actually didn't wear any shoes for about 95% of the reception/ceremony, I ended up being more comfortable without them! Not that I recommend doing that though, I actually do wish I had them on for the ceremony...oh well, just a minor detail!

In this pic you can actually see them sitting at the top of the stairs! haahaha

Andi, that's so funny that you forgot to wear your shoes! BTW, is your Bouquet the one that they comes included in LC wedding package or did you upgrade to another one? It's beautiful!

murraycb, i sent you an email. I'm so excited because this is actually the photographer that I wanted to book! YAY!! Don't you just love it when things just fall into place?

I know there have been posts about "tipping" but if anyone can give me a quick answer that would be great. i'm just wondering what a reasonable amount is to tip Nicole, and then the minister as well. thanks

as for shoes... i didn't wear any.. at all. i had a pair of flip flops, but i never put them on. all of our guests had their shoes off as well. everyone was running around in the sand, up and down the stairs, it just made sense not to wear shoes

 

also, the stairs are no big deal, at all. they aren't rough or steep or slippery. i ran up and down them all night long, no issues.
