Do you have my email? I've been throwing it around to so many people I can't even keep track!! If you end up keeping them no prob - just now you have a backup!!
Do you think we should tell our FI's about us, lol - I think if they figure out everything we've been planning we may not be able to cyberchat anymore! lol

"Everything was on sale Honey, I swear!...oh I but I lost that receipt!!" jk, ;o)

Or even better:

"didn't you know that retail stores don't issue receipts anymore - it's bad for the environment"
So funny that you should mention about telling the FI's... I got one of my group orders today and he was rather curious about it all surprisingly. He didn't quite understand why I bought the fans really so I said "they're wedding favours of course" at which point he started questioning what the mugs are for then... UH-OH! I just laughed and said "you have nooooo idea what I'm planning" and we just left it at that. Seriously, until I start packing everything to take with us, he'll be totally clueless! Nevermind that I could totally start sneaking things to my friends places if I needed to! Oh I love this!

Welcome and congrats!!!! Have you decided on a date?

About the dress issue...I did get the "feeling" but I did think my first one was the one..but I went looking some more and found the one that suited my personality..and it made me dance!!

If anybody wants to do Tears of Joy Packets...please let me know..I got some from Moepeedy and don't need them...it's the glassine envelopes and Tears of Joy labels..not looking for any money just don't want them to go to waste...

I don’t think January is too late if you’ve already given your potential guests a heads up on your wedding plans.

Another thing… I always heard that when you find “the dress”, you will KNOW it. Well, I didn’t get that feeling. It was more of a process of elimination for me. When I thought I had it narrowed down to “the dress”, I went to the bridal shop to try on a few other dresses to make sure. I tried on the other dresses first, then “the dress” last. The dress I chose was the one that I thought would look best on me and best in pictures, but I did not have that overwhelming feeling like it was the dress I had to have. I’ve talked to a few other brides who felt the same way. Has anyone else on this thread felt that way?
Same goes for me for both. I plan to send my formal invites early January along with my invitations to my AHR. As for the dress, same thing! I was sick and tired of trying on dresses so I said, "what the hell that one looks great on me". I don't regret it at all and I love it to death.

That's funny you mentioned this. Just lastnight I was looking at ring bearer pillows and my FI goes, "geez you have to look into that too? There's so much you need to do for this wedding." I go yeah, "thanks for all the help!" as he's watching the yankees vs. angels game. MEN! lol

Well it is chilly here so we wore fall gear...plus we are the fun couple..not stuffy at all so I just thought about what we would wear normally..just be yourselves..B & I had something to loosen us up and went from there!!!

Engagement - Smith & Parker

Thank you so much for sharing you e-shoots. They turned out amazing!!! and your FI B really does look like his having fun, enjoying himself. Hope my FI can do the same.

We are the same type of couple, very casual, nothing fancy. I think I may just pick up a new top to go with a pair of jeans, and will get Mike to put on a plain black button shirt with jeans.

BTW, LOVE the boots!!!

Thanks again for sharing!!!

I have you both beat. Last night I probably saw more of BOTH these games than either of you had to watch because in MY house, FI was watching BOTH. Actually I should make a correction on that. He was watching EVERY SINGLE SPORTS GAME that was on our tv last night. Geoff is a sports ADDICT and can just sit and watch anything and everything for hours at a time.
There are some days when I'm grateful for it (like when I want to curl up and read my book all day) and other days, actually most days, when it drives me insane! And of course to add a little insult, he has NO IDEA how to listen to the tv at a normal volume so i'm constantly bombarded by a series of sports announcers screaming at me in the kitchen, all the way from our living room. I want to get him one of those hearing aids they have commercials for on tv where you can hear your neighbor across the street, or a pin drop in the other room. Then he might appreciate why I keep asking him to turn it down!!! LOL!

Since then we have booked the resort in Jamaica and the wedding is set for April 1, 2010! April Fools day has always been "our" day so we thought is was fitting. Today was the first day people were able to contact the TA and apparently we have had almost 18 people book so far. Yay! We are expecting about 40 people or so. The STD's went out and through an E-vite with the TA info and so far so good. I am 5 1/2 months away, no dress or shoes or anything but I'm not stressing oddly enough. LOL I think I'll wait for all of that until the new year. Right now once we have final numbers from the TA I will start the DIY invitations. There was some pretty good ideas on other forums here that I have made note of so I'm pretty excited. After the invitations go out in mid to late November I will breath easy. Booking the place was the hard part. But so far everything is coming together!
Welcome to you and all of the other new brides!!!!

sorry for it being so big, have no idea what happened. And for odd reason some wording is missing 'now they are back from their fun in the sun and promised forever their lives as one....'

They look great!!!!

On a separate note, here is a photo of what I want to make for my centrepieces. Except in this picture they have a pink light and mine will be purple. Also, this one uses the 'ice cube' lights that I also liked, but didn't have as long of a battery life, can't be turned on/off etc. (yep, still trying to convince myself that the lights I bought will be worth it, haha!)

Am I a loser because I'm not making centerpieces? I'm so NOT creative or a DIYer....I look at what you guys are doing and marvel at it but I know mine would look like crap!

Kimmy - are you sure you want to wait that long to know who's coming? It's only October and I'm freaking out not knowing and my invitations went out 3 weeks ago. I've only gotten 4 RSVP cards back out of 29.

AND STILL NOBODY BOOKED!!!!

But my parent's airfare is done...because I did it.

And the TA snail mailed my mom the paperwork.

My FMIL actually told the TA she saw no reason to book this early.

echo2_62,

nope!! lol sounds like we have the same FI. I know where I'll find mine at the resort (at the sports bar) he watches all of the sports, all of the time. like you ok sometimes when I want to read, or catch up on wedding stuff, but most of the time it's annoying!!! (I say it's better his into sports, then into porno and other girls tho lol) I get what your saying about the volume. Most of the time I have to say he has the volume at a reasonable volume, but then it goes on break, or the guys start talking or changing the channel to another sports channel, OMG it's loud, and he wont turn it down, it's like there was no difference, so I have to be always saying to turn it down!! I totally feel you lol, we aren't winners here, we are loser's for putting up with such high volume lol!

Hi girls! I am getting married on April 10, 2010 as well! I sent out my STD's in June. I am in the process of picking out invitations right now and I'm figuring that I can't really do the OOT bags or favors or centerpieces until I get my replies back. I am just wondering... I saw on here before something about a wedding packet that gets mailed to you from ROR and I haven't gotten one yet. Did anyone else get one? And also, if I am planning on using the photographer from ROR do I have to call to book him? Is it somewhere in that packet? I have no idea what I am doing! Please help!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
