Thanks everyone - and Suzy you made me laugh which I needed! I have a picture of what I want my centre pieces to look like but of course it's on my home computer so I'll have to attach it later tonight. I showed it to my BM's the other evening and they really liked it so that makes me happy too.

We actually had our first official 'meeting' together - bottles of wine included - and got dresses picked out yay! We're getting the flirty convertible dress from Victoria Secret (VS Flirty Convertible Dress) in the blackberry colour and all the girls are excited to see which style they like best. AND, we're totally going to play pranks on our guests too :) We decided that they could each wear whichever style they liked best for the ceremony and then afterwards, and throughout the afternoon/evening, they're going to randomly change which style they have on - except when they do that all three girls will change into the same style. So we're going to do some test runs to make sure that the material under an armpit for one style doesn't end up across the boobs in another style. Deodorant stains wouldn't be so flattering!! Plus we got them on sale for an extra 20% off.

Thanks for the info on Vistaprint, I was getting a little nervous because it's taking me forever to fill out the brochure too, and I'm like you can't figure out where I want everyone to meet up for drinks and stuff...I've already ordered my postcards but they are pretty generic so I got excited and ordered them, should be in next week, I'll post some pics!!

Well it's a pretty funny story about our Son's name: I'll give you the moderately short version!!

My FI is part Filipino (his dad is full), and so we wanted to pick a name that was pretty cool and possibly have some origin from the Philippines.
So after months of searching I found a website of names of Filipino Gods and Goddesses - which I should have questioned immediately because the Philippines is either Roman Catholic or Muslim...We found a name we both loved that had a pretty cool meaning:
Martes (pronounced Mar-Tez) meaning; Prince of Pain, Son of Bagabo (God of War)
I know, sounds dark and brooding and we're not like that, but thought it'd be a cool meaning for a name!! lol
Then fast forward to a party we were at with the baby, he was about 2 months...and someone said "Oh Love the name, was he born on a Tuesday?"
Both of us laughed and responded, NO, why?
Well for those of you who speak Spanish...we do not, lol, Martes means Tuesday in Spanish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come to find out that most of his Filipino relatives knew this and didn't say a thing!! The philippines has a huge Spanish influence....
So to make a long story not so long: Don't pick Baby names off the internet unless you know the direct translation!! lol
We still love the name, and I think for pronunciation purposes once he starts school I'll spell it Martez, and we have heard it's a popular Latin name and the Latin form Martez means: From the God Mars. Plus we have given him some cool nick-names: Tez, Tezzie, Tez-a-roo, Pumpkin, lol. So I'm going to look into having the spelling legally changed, probably once I change to MY married name on his Birth Certificate, then I'll just do everything at once if I can....
His full name: Martes Artemio Marcel Araya, that'll be a hassle to teach him to spell!! lol
Sorry for the long post all, can you tell I love to chat!!

Meghan - Got your back if you need me!!

ebredhawk - you didn't order them and they're still holing your designs for you?

Well hello April 2010 brides! I am very new to BDW and so far I'm loving it. I only got engaged just over 3 weeks ago. Since then we have booked the resort in Jamaica and the wedding is set for April 1, 2010! April Fools day has always been "our" day so we thought is was fitting. Today was the first day people were able to contact the TA and apparently we have had almost 18 people book so far. Yay! We are expecting about 40 people or so. The STD's went out and through an E-vite with the TA info and so far so good. I am 5 1/2 months away, no dress or shoes or anything but I'm not stressing oddly enough. LOL I think I'll wait for all of that until the new year. Right now once we have final numbers from the TA I will start the DIY invitations. There was some pretty good ideas on other forums here that I have made note of so I'm pretty excited. After the invitations go out in mid to late November I will breath easy. Booking the place was the hard part. But so far everything is coming together!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
