When you are talking about a catholic ceremony in the gazebo, would this be the new Gazebo just built? Also what are the extra charges for a Catholic wedding as I know its more expensive.

Thank You

Gooner,
We are not doing anything legal wise for our marriage in our home country (Canada). all the legal aspects are being taken care of in Punta Cana.
I emailed Carolina and asked if we are able to use the new gazebo and she said it was fine as long as its ready by then, so hopefully we can have the ceremony in the new one :)

I do know the extra work, don't you need to get your priest from home to sign something as well?!? I was told this too.
*sigh*

Courtney:LOL real shoes?! you've gotta post them!!! I'm sure you'll have no problem finding flip flops, not sure what your looking for, Old Navy still has a wall of them, for $5
Or you can find an avon dealer, they have some really cute ones, still!

That totally sucks that you got wrong information. It is definately doable. It looks like your wedding is not until April so you still have time if you want to do the Catholic thing. I can send you the priests email address of who I've been dealing with down in Punta Cana if you want. And yes, you have to have an interview with your priest at home - like you would normally do but you have to get explicit permission from your priest to allow your marriage in punta cana. Oh and P.S. You cant have the ceremony on the beach - only in the gazebo or a church.

angela, so you can have a catholic ceremony in the new gazebo?? we want to use the new gazebo, but i don't want to get my hopes up - right now we'll be in the old gazebo in the garden. is fr. jean la caille also your contact? i haven't reached out to him yet since we haven't had our interview yet, and we have until february to finalize all the paperwork.

Hey Beach bum,

not sure if we can have it in the new gazebo or not. we were origionally going to have it in the old gazebo until I found out there is a new one. Yes Fr. Jean is my contact too and I have not asked him about the new gazebo. I am just planning on figuring it out during our meeting with Carolina.

Thanks so much Angela, I spoke it over with the FI and he likes it the way it will be with the judge.I guess I'll skip that priest part, and keep up my deal with my mom (to baptise our child whenever we have one lol)

I'm so happy you were able to get the right information!

So this is what I was thinking. Most of us will be meeting each other in April. And I still can't figure out most of your names. So I thought maybe we can post our names and where we are from (tho I know most know where most is from and their names, but for those who don't this will be super helpful)

I'll start lol :

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
