My fiance & I will be getting married on Sanibel Island April 2010. Afterwards, we want to go bar hopping with the family & friends on Ft Myers beach. I plan on going bar to bar down the beach. Anyone know of a good place where to start? I'd like it so we can walk from point A to point B. I'm not too familiar with Ft Myers beach but I've heard its the perfect place to bar hop. Thanks! smile29.gif

There are tons of bars along Fort Myers Beach and you can literally walk along the beach between them - it's an awesome place for a bar crawl. Lani Kai is a huge hotel that has a great bar and a lot of beachfront tables to enjoy your drinks - it would be a good starting place. The bar right next to it has live music sometimes. If you are there before the sun goes down - there is a cool bar across the street on the second floor. The options are endless ... Have fuN!

Sanibel is beautiful too!!

Wheree are you getting married on Sanibel? That was what we aimed for at first, but wasnt in the budget sad.gif We are getting married in Fort Myers Beach now :)

We'll be getting married on the Light house point beach...I believe thats what it's called. We're in the middle of planning which beach we'll use at the moment. I am also on a very tight budget & wanted to keep things small & simple. I found a company called Florida Weddings, Beach Ceremonies, Wedding Officiants, Sunset Calender. Susan is VERY nice, listens to what you want, & will make a personalized quota for you. Its VERY afforable. I've read a lot of reviews about their company so they seem reputable & good. They are flexible with their packages & do what you want. What company are you using for your wedding? Have you got everything planned & ready to go? msnwink.gif

I will totally take you up on that!!! If you don't mind! :o) I want to get a hotel on ft myers beach....preferrably a hotel that will be at our ending point from bar hopping so we can all stumble in there & not worry about a taxi. haha :o) Definitely let me know when you get there! I wish there was a map of bars that I could pull up that showed all of them on ft myers beach.

I've heard of Lani Kai, but can't picture it! So the bars are pretty close together then, right? We are getting married on a Wednesday, at sunset, so Im hoping some of the bars will havea nightlife on a Wednesday. We wanted the middle of the week so people could make it a vacation & do what they wanted the beginning half of the week & then they could relax the rest of the week after we got married. What do you think? AND i'm hoping we JUST MISS spring break....hopefully...? haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
