OK! I know I shouldn’t be involved in the lads holiday… however, the guys have helped out a lot, and I’ve decided to show my application via the stag do! I’ve been looking at gifts they can use to the trip to Spain, and this is what I’ve come up with so far:
I know the hubby isn’t planning on buying the guys watches so getting them all matching or similar watches with an engraving is my favourite idea. It might be costly, but I’ve worked out that it is a viable option. I slightly worried about giving it to them before the stag do, they aren’t NORMALLY the type to do anything crazy but I’d be gutted if one of them lost/ broke the watch!
They all have matching tops for the trip, so why not get them all some matching caps? I’m not thinking tacky though, something like designer trucker caps where they’ll actually wear them after the stag do, and hopefully, it will remind them of the trip!
Stag Do: Part 2
A friend of mine gave me this idea, basically, because all of the hubby’s family and friends are heading to Spain, I wanted to book something more local that he and his four closest friends can do for a final weekend away. This will likely be the idea I commit to, as it seems the easiest and I only need to book the accommodation for the lads.
I know that lads want to try shooting at some point and they couldn’t exactly work it into the trip to Barcelona, so this, paintballing and a fair few beers waiting on arriving might be the perfect gift for them all to enjoy.
I’ve struggled to think of any other idea’s that don’t revolve around buying them booze and food. I played with the idea of bracelets, but a couple of friends joked about them all being “bracelet buddies” so I’ve written that idea off for good. They all very into their clothing and a mens twin set could be a good idea, but I’d have to get them different styles, and it would be the most memorable gift idea.
I’ve been all over the internet and asking everyone for advice on what to wear after the big day. Naturally, the words white, classy and lace all come to up in conversation, but I wanted to see the other options, something slightly out there (something he’s not expecting). Here’s a look at some of the more unconventional options I’m thinking about.
Obviously, this style is quite lacey, but somehow the design gives it a traditional wedding finish rather than the current lace underwear you can buy anywhere. Matching some lace briefs with a vintage styled corset to give my new husband a classic look he’s not familiar with.
Something I really like the idea of, some designers are offering a new trend of tonal pink and nude colours for wedding underwear. Agent Provocateur is a designer that I’ve fallen in love with; their designs are so detailed, you can see why women around the world are spending more on their lingerie.
Delicate Styles for Bigger Busts
One thing I’ve always struggle with is wearing elegant styles of bras, and if you have a bigger bust, usually bras include wiring that is never subtle and never as comfy. Pour Moi is another designer that is offering perfectly ivory wedding underwear, and my current obsession is the strappy styles that go over the bust and around the bum to accentuate your curves.
It’s probably not something I would wear on my wedding night, but I love the idea! Oysho is offering lingerie playsuits for your evening in the honeymoon suite, and they provide a little extra mystery in comparison to the other options I’ve been mentioning. They are perfect for the daytime though, as they come in unconventional shapes that can cater to the more unusual shaped dresses!
A recommended website to try was Anya Lust, that specialises in empowering women with their sensual products! The collection of wedding underwear they offer is so creative, for those who want to be as revealing as possible, with a hint of a wedding theme, Anya Lust’s lace and pearl thongs go perfectly with a bralette and will make you look and feel sexy. They also offer a lace slip to match if you want there to be a bit of mystery before the grand unveiling! Speaking of veils, they even offer a mini veil to complete the bridal finish!
Coco De Mer is a luxury lingerie specialist that uses Italian lambskin and the highest quality product to finish off their pieces. Some see this brand as a bit of a novelty, but with their range of golden underwear, you can make your new husband feel like he’s won an Oscar (well I thought it was funny). Their designs range from both the classical bridal look, to something much more sultry, just look at their range of caged bras!
There you have it! More current thoughts on luxury lingerie and anything that can help inspire my final choice. Currently, I love the thought of the nude/pink styles, but whos to say that I only need one set #honeymoon
I’ve decided I want to wear a watch on my wedding day, I didn’t think it was a conventional idea, but it turns out a lot of people do it. It’s just a case of whether you want something subtle that doesn’t take away anything from the dress, or something extravagant. Here’s a look at some designers that offer wedding watches I love!
Whilst browsing, I expected to see a bunch of white or silver watches that had a lot of diamond embedded into them. The idea of having something blue as your watch is brilliant! I’ve seen a lot of brands offer simply styled watches in different tones of blue. House of Florrie for example of a really thin leather strapped watch in a soft blue so it doesn’t take away any attention from the dress, and with a rose gold frame, it’s a watch you can wear over and over on a daily bases!
Another worry of mine was that I bought a beautiful wedding watch that I feel I could only wear on my wedding day, which seems like a waste of something beautiful. Another brand I came across was Harper Rose, they offer watches that you can change the straps of to suit the occasion or outfit. So my white wedding watch will be great for my special day, but then I can change it into a rose gold watch and wear it every day. Some of their designs also use crystals which will make for a much better wedding day finish!
Depending on your budget, another idea to consider is something with a lot of bling. A type of watch that is more like a piece of jewellery rather than a timepiece. Swarovski offer watches with straps completely covered in their crystals, which makes for a beautiful talking piece on a special day.
My final idea, a set of matching watches that the bride and groom can wear on the special day. The majority of designer brand offer matching watches, usually with a metal or leather strap and the ladies watch is a thing elegant strap with a simple face to match the grooms. This is the idea I’m currently leaning towards but I’m still undecided as I'm sure I'm going to see a lot more ladies fashion watches before I finally pick one (or two) out.
So, my fiancé and I have decided to go in another direction with our honeymoon, Skiing! We’ve talked about relaxing in the sun for 2 weeks but we usually get a bit bored after a while in the sun. The plan is to go skiing for a week in an unchosen location in Europe and then do 2 weeks of inter-railing around some of the local countries.
It’s a lot of travelling on planes and trains so I’m thinking about adding on matching fitted tracksuits to the list of wedding presents. with that I’ve decided to mention a few Idea’s for the honeymoon if you’re not one for the beach and skiing doesn’t sound appealing either.
US Road trip
We talked about this idea for a while but decided that it’s going to be more affordable to go skiing after the wedding. US road looks like one of the best experiences and you can choose from the West or East coast and there’s literally thousands of things to do on either coast. It’s a pricey holiday but if you want to tick off a lot of sites on one holiday it’ll be worth it!
This is still a maybe for me and the hubby, the luxury lifestyle and sunshine daily whilst travelling to exotic locations and spending time in new cities. Travelling around Europe is still a maybe for us via cruise getting to go to Spain, Italy and Croatia is still tempting me away from skiing!
Financially, this was a good idea for me, I have family over there but I imagine most will want their own space on their honeymoon. Thinking about Australia made sense though, sunshine, beaches and amazing night/ city life to experience.
I’m getting married in 2019 and I’ve already gone crazy looking at wedding gifts, in my defence my family and friends have told me to start making a list of things that we (I want). My fiancé and I already have a home together and we’ve have most home essentials that people would normally want for their wedding. I’ve decided to do a blog about weird Ideas to consider if you a bride wondering what to ask for!
A Framed Picture
It might sound a little bit boring but there are some amazing designers out there! my dreamlines creates hand drew pictures using the brides dress and the groom's suit, it’s completely different to having regular photographs taken (although I still want that too). They do cost a little more BUT its art that will be with you every day!
Potentially the weirdest on the list but me and my fiancé go running together and I think some matching fitness clothing will be a perfect gift for us. Yeah, he’ll complain that it’s cringy but he doesn’t have a choice really. It’s a good idea for those who don’t want to pressure friends and family to spend too much either it’s an affordable gift.
Mr & Mrs engraved pens are a current obsession of mine, this is something that you can use every day and it can last a lifetime! There are so many companies to look at the will engrave pens, I got the idea when I was in a jewellery shop and it’s something I think we will both really benefit from. Probably best to keep them in the house though, I constantly lose pens!
So that’s a couple idea's or you can consider and they’ve all gone on my list already, I’ve still got about 10 friends asking me what I want so I’ll likely be back on here with a few more tips!
