  1. @steelbride We are paying $1610 in beginning of December and that's the best we could get! I originally wanted to go in October but it was $200 cheaper to go in December! We wanted to get the costs down as much as possible so we are going Wednesday to Wednesday as that also brought the price down a lot. We found westjet to be the most expensive though so I think your group rate is pretty good with them, especially that time of year! We are flying with sunwing. Oh and that rate is for platinum. Our whole grip is staying platinum
  2. @steelbride That will look fantastic at the resort! I just saw your dress to and it's gorgeous! Looooooove the bottom.
  3. @steelbride one thing that was suggested to me for shoes from another GSP bride I know was to get wedges because the walkway to the gazebo has the wooden slats so you don't have to worry about getting a heel stuck! haha. They do put a red carpet over it but the red doesn't go with my colours and it didnt go with hers either so she had them remove it and I am doing the same
  4. Hahaha that's hilarious @steelbride! This is my dress. Super beachy and casual with the slit. It's light and stretchy and so comfy! And these are the shoes I'm thinking from target of all places... The dress is champagne so I'm having a hard time finding the right colour shoes so I'm thinking of going blush which is my wedding colour!
  5. @steelbride lol I went dress shopping with the same intentions- "I'm just looking I'm not buying anything today" - ofcourse I walked out with my dress! The resort is painful at getting back to you... they take forever. Deans assistant actually offered to call the resort and sort everything out for me instead of waiting as we were concerned about someone else booking what we wanted before us. They said they do it all the time so its just way easier. I wanted to have our ceremony at 4pm but I could only get 2pm in the end. Now that I have 2pm though I'm looking forward to being able to have some down time between ceremony and reception to relax and have a drink and spend more time in my dress! Dean said sometimes it is to bright and hot to do photos that early in the day but I am sure it will all work out perfect!
  6. @steelbride we are doing the chill out reception. Its crazy expensive but we are just going to go for it haha I'm so excited! and yes I am in Canada and have my dress! It's super beachy and perfect @@nehaanjaria on here used Dean Sanderson at GSP and has lots of pictures which I found really heplful to!
  7. Hi @Steelbride I am getting married at GSP at the riviera gazebo in December 2015 and also using Dean Sanderson! I am thinking of using the resort spa for my makeup but I am a little nervous... I know someone who used them and said they were great and the pictures of it are great but still nerve-wracking! Let me know what you decide on also have you made a timeline and decided how long you will have Dean for? Im working on that right now and your input would be great!
  8. Hello @@nehaanjaria I am having my wedding December 2015 at GSP at the riviera gazebo and am looking to book the chill out reception and using dean Sanderson as well! Just wondering how long you booked dean for and any advice on how the timing all worked for you?
  9. @@veryvalentine I wish I could say I'm loving the travel agent experience but so far ours has been a nightmare! We are also going through sunwing and were told at first that every 10 rooms we booked we would get 1 free but when I asked about how to get that credit the other day my travel agent said sometimes you don't get it until after the trip?! This makes no sense to me... They also told us in the beginning we would be getting a $50 excursion credit for every guest and of course we have heard nothing more about that either. Our travel agent is a complete scatter brain...But we're all booked and it's done so that is what really matters! I can't believe the deal you got though... We are paying $1610 for 1 week in the platinum suites flying out of Vancouver. I am so excited about my flowers now!!! Making them is going to be sooo much better. I was concerned about not having any centrepieces because I didn't want to pay a fortune for them! So glad to hear your input on the dance floor to I will for sure go with the dance party on the beach it sounds awesome! We were at a wedding at the same resort about 5 years ago and it was in the riviera gazebo and I fell in love with it. When I started planning my own wedding I just pictured everything there. I actually can't believe how many brides choose the sunset gazebo! The riviera is so much prettier! Haha I've emailed the WC and asked to book the chill out but of course she hasn't got back to me yet... Hopefully it's not booked up yet!
  10. Hi @@veryvalentine your bm bouquets are gorgeous! You did a great job. I am totally interested in doing my own flowers now! I feel like the resort options are just a little outdated. The resort had no problems with you doing your own? Did you ask them if you could bring them in? Just wondering how to go about that! I have my ceremony booked for the riviera gazebo and I'm thinking of booking my reception at the chill out now that I am reading so many fantastic reviews on it. I am curious about the dancing there though... I see some brides rent the light up dance floor for the beach which I love but it's pricey. What did you do for a dance floor and did you get a DJ? Also who did you use as a wedding photographer and did you get your hair and makeup done at the resort? Ah so many questions! Haha I'm so glad I came across this website it has been soooo helpful! Thanks so much for any input! Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures!
