  1. Kim,I would like you to guide me how to post the pictures, tried to do it,but I am rubbish at this site unfortunately;(Assistance urgently needed;))))Yes,resort, service is great. However, service becomes much better after tip:)Resort changed to a better side since last year.I really like the holiday makers, atmosphere is friendly and nice.Didn't like consierge being pushy with this upgrade thing, making you become a VIP member etc.The only thing that really irritated. On the whole, good choice of food, good drinks, clean, tidy friendly, lots of activities. However, beach has those unpleasant rocks, not very pleasant to step in the sea.Related to beach dinner,Maybe it's a difference between European and American brides, maybe it's a present from Thomson, not sure why you didn't get it:(Really, have nothing huge to complain about.Maybe evening show was a bit of a high school play level, but I had friends to spend time with and was sometimes too tired to watch it,so didn't really need it a lot;)Animation team works hard all day but they are not too pushy, that is really very good,if you want to be more lazy;)If there are any more questions, feel free to ask ladies;)
  2. Hi ladies!I am just back to Ireland after 2 weeks of Paradise!!!!It was amazing, awesome, fantastic, great!!!!So,Marcela is amazing you are in the best hands ever! She knows and understands everything the bride wants! All the team was amazing! So our ceremony started at 4pm.My husband left at 3 and I got ready with Marcela, she helped me with the dress and collected me with the golf car, before that they collected all our guests and My husband;)My hairstyle and make up were done by my friend who is a stylist,my bouquet was brooch and I did flowers and buttonholes for the guests myself,we were 14 people. Our colour was yellow,so I have Marcela all deco I brought with me,also she did amazing job with flowers on the gazebo and she used Tiffany chairs with yellow ribbons without white covers. She was helpful, efficient organised. After the ceremony we had a half hour sparkling wine and appetisers toast on the beach(our ceremony was not in Palapa,we were on the Mayan beach near the ruin),then guests were brought to the lobby for a drink and we had a 2 hour photosession with Adventures photos, our photographer was Ulisus. He was amazing!Ver pleasant and understanding! He is artistic how I like;)I will try to download some pictures here,if only I knew how;)))At 6:30 we had reception in a Mexican restaurant and we had Michael Minitelli DJ,he is great!I wrote a playlist what we and our guests like and he had everything for us:)After the reception we went to the disco;)Weather on that day was great,a bit rainy though, but not too hot;)I like Ribiera Maya side more than Mauan beach as it's closer to everything apart disco,we stayed in the 18 building,19 is the best but you have to pay for the sea view;)It's close to spa, dolphins, sea ,pool ,theatre and lobby;)So everything was great!!!!If you go swimming with Dolphins choose Leo as your guide and package that includes photos as taking photos additionally will cost 950 pesos per person;)We went to Xichen Itza, had Irving as our guide he was brilliant! Also we went to deep sea fishing but me and one little boy didn't feel very good so basically just had deep sea ride no fishing;(If you have any questions feel free to write me and ask anything;)And don't forget to book your a le carte restaurants through your consierge before 3 pm better every Wednesday;)I would recommend Japanese,Brazilian and Mexican;)Also, would rev commend French as service and food is amazing!Even though you have to pay extra;)It's worth it;)Also,as newly weds you will get French and honeymoon dinner for free;)Honey moon dinner we had was ok,on the beach, but it was too windy and chilly so I would recommend those going soon to take more cardigans and jumpers with you to wear at night;)Yes,as Calgary bride said be very careful checking your bill and pay it before hand so that not to pay not for your stuff;)Defo visit spa as water circuit now is charged for the room not per person,it's 350 pesos per room;)I was 3 times the most perfect way to cure hangover;)For my hen I had Swedish massage,my masseur was Offelia, she was ok,but not enough pressure for me,my friends had deep muscle one on the beach for the Valenyine day,ir was amazing! We had the most amazing beach party on Saturday;)A good idea is to combine it with your wed and finish your party with the beach party;)Michael Minotelli is the most amazing DJ;)We had Amber package for the wedding;)The most amazing thing happened when my husband lost his wedding band after wedding and newlyweds from Canada Rebecca and her husband found it on the coral while snorkelling the day we were leaving,do they together with Marcela found us near the bus and gave it back!Hope she is in this group and I am so grateful For dverything they did!Fantastic people! Therefore girls, don't forget to engrave your names and wedding date on the bands just on case;)So girls good luck to everyone and write me should you have any questionsxxxxxdaivinosezoterika@@gmail.com
  3. Hi Emma, yes I changed The golden package into "Reniewal of Vows" which is 615£. I had to pay 50£ fine. They are making good money, aren't they?:)So we are paying in UK for the holiday 2,200£ for both of us 14 nights and 615£ renewal of vows package(decorated ceremony-white covers,2 corner and1 centwrpiece, ribbons additional price 2£ each),sparking wine toast(1 glass per person 3 snacks), French restaurant for bride and groom, cake, bouquet and buttonhole. It's for 10 people and for 2 more people we are paying 40$.Then we are paying for the private reception in the restaurant for 4 hours 9,000 pesos and food for each person with banquet menu 525 pesos pp with national bar included. So it's not in the package of Thomson, you book reception through the hotel and good news is pay Mexican prices not UK prices. We estimated it's still cheaper for us and we don't want all the fuss with documents and blood test;)Those are some contact emails who I am dealing with zoe.seth@thomson.co.uk(she was the last one and rather fast in responding),Naomi.Parnell@thomson.co.uk. Basically you have to contact wedding team. Don't forget to collect all reference numbers from your guests to get bride and groom insentive;)so,of you have any questions feel free to contact me on daivinosezoterika@@gmail.com;)I won't be available for two weeks tho;)xxxx
  4. Hello everybody!Thank you all the useful information you provided!Calgarybride2015 congrats!Your photos look lovely! You did a fantastic job organising everything! My wedding is 14/02/2015 very very soon;)I am so excited! So,I am not very good with operating this site will do my best in this post explaining everything;) Well,we are 12 people adults and 2 kids;)Almost everybody is flying from London,UK one couple from Canada, one family from Lithuania.Me and my groom from Ireland. When I started planning everything we lived in London, but we moved a month ago:)So,we made all the arrangements from Thomson(the worst decision ever),I have been organising everything since July 2014 and only before Christmas everything was kind of made clear. My wedding dress box arrived only yesterday,I had to remind them about my Bride and insentive as they seem to forget everything what belongs to us,but never forgot to remind about the outstanding payment;)I would advice all UK and Irish brides to go through Thomas Cook;)As we are in Europe we are not allowed to do direct bookings with the hotel only through your operator(probably because it's the only way to rip us off double price for everything). As I didn't know it I did all the bookings directly with GS choosing Golden package. As I was told to do everything through the tour operator the price went up to 1000£ in a flash. Kind of I noticed wedding coordinators change more often than weather in UK,so by now I have communicated with probably 5 starting with Maria finishing with Marcela. As we were considering only symbolic ceremony(sorry blood test and all the paperwork not for me),Thomson told me they can't offer the symbolic one.But I was assertive and persistent and after I changed 10 people on the phone(you have to pay for every phone call you make and it takes them 20 min to put you through with the right person as none of them in the wedding team can never answer any question about wedding packages, almost a week I had my lunch break distroyed) I was able to get info about exchange of vows ceremony which is obviously what I was searching for.But Thompson were able even to sent me contract full of mistakes(wrong price, wrong hotel, wrong spelling of the names),so after several months of" fighting" I got what I needed - renewal of vows contract which contains ceremony with decorations(white gazebo with 2 corner and a centrepiece ,white chairs covers) on the beach, toast with appetizers(3 pieces for each person and a glass of sparkling wine),brides bouquet, grooms buttonhole, cake,French restaurant for bride and groom for 615£. We had all the documents signed in London so I don't really need to do it second time;)We had a nice London wedding party now we need to bring our wed certificate they don't even ask it to be with apostile or Spanish translation. But I apostiled it just in case;)So our Beach ceremony is at 4 pm, 4:30 toast with appetizers(3 pp and 1 glass of sparkling wine) 5pm-6 pm photosession on the beach and near ruins,6pm-10pm reception in the Mexican restaurant with DJ from 8pm. We are having extra ribbons for the chairs(11) as our theme is yellow about 2£ each. Yellow gazebo decoration 30£. So far I decided flowers to be yellow roses and white and yellow lilies, but might change my decision;)We are paying for the reception in the Mexican restaurant plus national bar included( can send all info related to that)We can't have palapa or beach bar as we are fewer than 25 p.I am paying for each person and for 4 hour private reception.I might be mistaken but approximately 1000£,not sure as need to check with them, will write everything when I am done;)Our photography is booked for 3 hours with adventures resourt photographers,we are getting 200 pics and a photo book,it's about 750£. I would say its a really rip off,but what can you do when you can't bring photographer from outside without paying 300$. We are having hen night with girls in the spa having water circuits and Swedish massages about 80£pp. I am doing corsages and buttonholes for everybody at my wedding myself(as we are only 12 pps),I am doing my make up myself(finished courses did twice already kind of it works) have all the cosmetics and one of my guests in my stylist so she is doing my hair;)I am doing my wedding favours myself, flower girls basket is with yellow decorations and shells, ring pillow is in a similar style was designed together with my dress(about 1000£ dress, ring pillow,tiara,3 pairs of shoes high heels flats and middle heels-just in case). So everything is in the Yellow Sea Mexican theme;)I am asking all my girls to wear yellow dresses and all gentlemen to wear white shirts and yellow bow ties.I bought all girls barefoot sandals(about 50£)I am going to wear them too during the ceremony. Also want to make like shoe point sign so that everybody can leave their footwear there before the reception;)I am not using the bride and groom flowers as I have my brooch bouquet already done(did it myself for my London ceremony),will ask for the flowers to be given me loose to use them like petals.I have all the decorations for the reception and beach toat bought (yellow pebbles and shells, candles). The problem is it all weights so much....Worried about my baggage....We are planning to bring some good champaign bottles with us to use for the beach toast. Were adviced that by friends who got married in Thailand;)Also when you have 10 people flying with you you need to send their reference numbers to Thomson and you get bride and groom incentive like extra 5 kg of the luggage each(so much handy for me now!) and access to VIP lounge in Gatwick airport(which has dress code you have to be smart casual),wedding dress travel box. So we are not going to have any family with us,only friends therefore we are doing it a bit more simple and laid back;)I am not really happy with the photographers I wanted to book Perla(who I have heard so much good about) but they would never reply to my email,I knew exactly how and what I wanted so sent them some shoots how should be and how shouldn't be,probably they are just pissed off with the bosy bride and don't want to talk to me before I arrive;))))lol I am doing a bit of programme for my guests and groom I do belly dancing so will have some dances and games also I am doing some nice things for them with my personal touches as wedding favours (I do astrology and numerology so each guest will get a personal lucky number and some more reports, very positive and nice). Also thinking of packing some nice things like candy but running out of space ji my suitcase,so probably reports will do;))))That is it for now;)Will write all detailed report after the wedding and include pictures;)Wish me luck and keep in touch;)I can email all the info with prices to anyone who is interested just let me know;)
  5. Hi girls, thank you everybody for sharing your ideas and knowledge of everything! You have been amazing helpful and informative!I looked through everything and found so many tips!So my wedding is booked for the 14th February,2015.We already got the confirmation of the day, paid all the travelling cost and almost made all the arrangements. We are a small group of 10 people,we are having renewal of vows ceremony as our official ceremony will be in London. So we are paying £615 for the decorated venue(only flowers on the arch, centrepiece, white gardeno, and white covers for the chairs),cake,my bouquet, grooms buttonhole, toast on the beach.Reception and all extras will be paid after the ceremony and we have to deal everything with the hotel.Somehow when all the bookings were made Kenya became very silent and never answers the email;)So that is my short story;)Would like to ask you related to photography.I got 2 links: 1. http://www.photosincancun.com/category/images/weddings/. And 2. http://www.adventures-photos.com/weddings/. I am actually not happy with both. But probably Adventures are a bit better. Can anybody send me more links of the resort photographers links? I asked Kenya to send me more links and more contacts, but she is silent.By the way,my Wedding coordinator is Kenya Garcia(she was very helpful and nice, but suddenly disappeared).I started correspondence with Maria, then it was Kenya. They seem to change very often.I know there two of them at the moment. As far as I got from this most amazing group the price of the photoshoot for 3 hours is £750.(sorry guys,I am from London, count everything in pounds). If you want your photographer from the outside you pay the fine $300.I still hope those ones are not the only ones available as I want smth more interesting and a bit of Photoshop will be nice too;)))So my questions will be:Has anyone got any replies from Kenya recently(2 weeks)? What photographers are you using?Have you got any more links?Maybe you know what is the difference between Mariarchi group and Mexican trio?Thank you lovelies! And good luck to those whose day is approaching we will need all the detailed report;)Mine will be after Valentine's day;)xxxxx
  6. Calgarybride2015,Thank you very very much!Your info is really very helpful!I will look through everything and if have more questions will ask them for sure! Now I have a question related to decorations on the beach, what is included except for those mentioned in the price list?i was planning to make them yellow, not light blue as it's shown on the pictures. Will it be possible? What did you use?Thank you!Related to photographers,I am really not sure if I will have one.
  7. Hi girls!I am absolutely new to this thing!Have been reading your useful hints and information! You are amazing! So,my situation is:We are getting married in GS on the 14 th of February 2015,we booked our holiday for 2 weeks(8th-22nd),so far we are 10 people, but hopefully will be about 15-20.So I contacted the wedding team weddings.mx@sirenishotels.com,they never replied so far.Tried to call them but the call is being Transfered all the time.A bit frustrating. So,I would like more information in GBP(£)if possible,as we are coming from London:)))))We are planning silver package,Italian or Mexican restaurant for the reception, civil ceremony on the northern beach(the one which is the most isolated),as we are not such a massive group Palapa and private reception is not an option for us,my hair and make up I am planning to do myself,as my friend who is a styling coming too,and I had a course on make up,so I think I will manage:)We are trying to make it not so expensive,So I guess with the silver package and resort photographer it won't be very expensive;)Related to the documents,I have been married before,so will I need to translate all the documents,my divorce certificate and birth certificate into Spanish?Wjat about 4 witnesses, will we translate their passports and birth certificates too? Also,do we have to send all the documents in advance or it will be enough time during the first week we arrive?I am considering of getting married in London before the ceremony in Mexico,I guess it might be too much hassle...Just need your advice who did everything and how it all was for girls from the UK:)Related to the legality of marriage is it proper legal one or will we have to remarry in London?I know my theme for the wedding and want my decorations to be in yellow, also my flowers to be yellow, how will I deal this with the resort? Is it better to deal everything through the resort or the travel agency? How did you book your packages?Did you pay in advance or just the deposit? Also,a very strange thing you are going on all inclusive holiday and have to pay for the meal and drinks of the reception,a bit strange for me,or maybe I just don't understand it right;)I kind of imagine it all should be about 5000£,photographer,wedding team, reception for 2-4 hours in a le carte, flowers, shampaigne at the ceremony, judge fee, blood test. what are other important things I need to know and what are not important and can be missed? We were in the GS for our engagement last year and we loved it there very much! Can you send me any useful info you can girls as the only things I have are from the Internet;)If you can send me all info you have to my email daivinosezoterika@@gmail.com!Thank you very much girls!xxx
