Heyyy everyone! We are getting married May 15, 2015...and couldn't be more excited! Any past brides have any reviews good/bad regarding the resort's preferred DJ? I'm not 100% decided yet, but pretty sure we are flying down our own photographer....it's just an aspect of the wedding I don't want to have to worry about. I have not visited the Paradisus yet, we plan to go in October, but I see a lot of talking on here about Dreams Riviera Cancun. I actually went there on a girls trip last year! The resort is modern, I found the rooms to be nice (not as nice as Dreams Puerto Aventuras)....but I was sort of turned off by the ceremony site. It was right next to the pool and beach entrance, therefore, no privacy and no seclusion. Has anyone on here changed their package after booking? I'm starting to worry that as costs add up I might actually save money by booking Tailor Made.

@@Anna2015 Heyy.....we invited a little over 200, although probably expecting around 75 realistically. We chose the aqua package, but I'm changing the decor since aqua is not my color. No deals have been made, and every change is a charge. We are still super excited and in major planning mode! Let me know what you decide

This board has been super quiet! Any one care to share their recent wedding experiences at the Paradisus? Anyone book recently? Anyone have a site visit? My fiance and I are officially confirmed and will be getting married at La Esmeralda in May 2015 Can't wait!

Heyy! Just wondering if you came any closer to your decision? There are soooo many choices, and I feel like I'm in the same boat! I am 99% sure we are doing the Paradisus La Esmeralda...have you looked into that resort? I loved it because it was similar to Azul Sensatori with rave reviews for food, and modern amenities. And the added bonus which was also HUGE for us, a non-rocky/seaweed filled beach. Outside vendor fees are terrible just like AS, $1000/vendor. My fiance and I were planning to do a site visit this month at Paradisus, however, they are sold out, so we may stay at the AS and meet with their WC as a back up.

Hey! Thanks for your response... yes I definitely agree it's going to be tough, but hopefully not impossible. We are not doing a legal ceremony, we will get married here before we go and just do the symbolic. I'm also pretty sure I'm not going to be able to do much in terms of flowers, which I'm ok with. Price included aqua package for 50 i believe, 3 hour dj, 1 photographer for 3 hours, 4 hour videographer. I see all the extras they offer, and they're super tempting but I know they're not necessary. I'd rather spend our money on our honeymoon to Bora Bora! I'm super close to booking this resort, I'm just getting nervous that once I'm locked in I'll find out about all sorts of extra fees, etc. Hoping to get into this while somewhat knowing what to expect.

Hey girls! I'm super new here! My fiance and I got engaged in August, and have finally decided we are doing destination. We have narrowed our search down to Paradisus La Esmeralda and Dreams Tulum. I have gathered all the information and priced out everything at La Esmeralda, but I'm waiting to hear back from DT. I was just about to book the other resort, and panicked at the last minute and decided to see how far my $ could go here, considering my sister was married at Dreams Puerto Aventuras 3 years ago and it was amazingly perfect. Hey girls! I'm super new here! My fiance and I were engaged in August, and have finally decided we are doing destination! I am so super close to booking La Esmeralda, but just wanted to discuss surprise fees/taxes/etc here before I do. I have added up everything with an estimate of 50 guests (anything lower will save me money ) and it seems to run about 13-15,000. I refuse to use outside vendors with that ridiculous fee! Do you all think it's possible to stay under 15,000?
