Thanks! This is very helpful. I did end up hearing back from my coordinator about this question. She said: "They can coming at the Palace only for the ceremony and the reception, but between ceremony and reception after reception they can eat or drink at the Palace." Our ceremony is at 4:00pm, and the reception is not until 6:30pm. I had planned on having all of the guests meet at one of the Palace bars for a pre-reception drink in-between. So, in-between the ceremony and the reception, would non-Palace guests be able to grab a drink or a snack at the Palace facilities? The response from my coordinator kind of confused me, and I'm not entirely sure that she meant to say 'CAN'. Let me know what you think. Thanks again! Vanessa

I have 50 guests staying at the palace for our wedding week July 20th to July 27th 2013. There are a few people who are deciding to come last minute but there is no availability left at the Palace so there are planning on staying at the Tropical or Colonial instead. Does anyone know if there is a day pass fee to access the Palace if the guests are staying at one of the other Barcelo hotels? I asked my wedding coordinator but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. Hi everyone, My fiance and I have picked the Strawberry Passion package. Our wedding coordinator (Victoria) told us we had the following options for live music during the ceremony: -Violin -Flute -Saxaphone We are leaning towards violin but I would like hear feedback from from any brides who have already been married at the Barcelo Maya Palace? We are getting married in the gazebo if that matters. Another option is to have my sister sing as she is a singer. I am a little worried that her voice wouldn't carry well over the sound of background noises? Any feedback on this would be much appreciated. Thank you Vanessa

This is what we chose for the wedding menu: SALADS - Tomato salad with goat cheese pesto dressing SOUP -Lobster bisquet MAIN DISH - Surf & Turf (beer tenderloin with lobster tail) DESSERT - Sweet creme brulee caramelized apple fruit cocktail From what I have read, the food is supposed to be really good and other brides have mentioned that their guests raved about the wedding meal. I hope we made some good choices! -Vanessa

I'm a newbie from Hamilton, ON. My fiance and I are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace on July 23rd 2013. As of right now we have 52 guests attending - 50 adults and 2 toddlers. I haven't stayed at the Barcelo before, but I did I site visit when I was in the Mayan Riviera in Nov 2012 and it is a beautiful resort. So far the planning hasn't been too stressful. Starting to work on OOT bags.... Happy planning everyone!
