  1. Hello everyone! I finally posted a review on my wedding at the Barcelo Maya Palace.   2. Hey everyone! I know I just asked this, but does anyone know if they serve premium liquor at the reception, or do you have to pay more to upgrade?
  3. So they serve premium liquor at the reception? I had thought that if you were staying at the palace it was all premium liquor, but it seems like you have to have the prem wristband, is that right? I guess I want to make sure it will be premium for the reception. Let me know if anyone knows... Thanks!!!!
  4. Thanks for the responses everyone!!! Did anyone get their room upgraded when they arrived. Our travel agent booked us for only a junior suite, no ocean view because she said they would probably upgrade me when I arrive. Does anyone have any experience with this? The price difference is quite a bit if I upgrade my room through my travel plan.
  5. For those who have already been married there, did you think it was necessary to have a cocktail hour? I was thinking of just sending everyone to the Carey Bar (I think it's called) at the Palace while we take pictures. We are getting the Mariachi Band, but were planning on using them during our reception. Any thoughts on that?

  7. Hey everyone! Does anyone know about the bride and groom getting their hotel stay for free with a certain amount of guests staying at hotel? My travel agent mentioned something about it but wasn't quite sure. Also, for those of you who had a symbolic wedding, did you write what your officiant said or did they have to say something specific? Did you just let them do their thing? Thanks!!!
  8. Wow those pics are gorgeous!! We are having our reception at mariachi grill but haven't heard any feedback on it yet. Does anyone know if you haves one kind of rehersal? I'm just wondering how people will know where to stand and all. Thanks!
  9. Question!.... i am having trouble figuring out what I am going to put on my invitations. Did you guys do a reception card at all? Did you put down location of ceremony and reception? I am worried to do that in case I change spots of something once I get down there. But if I don't, how will everyone know where to go? Did you put times as well? Haha a lot of questions, but am struggling with it. Thanks!
  10. Does anyone have any advice on gift bags, and how to get them to everyone's rooms? I don't mind delivering them myself but I don't know if I'll be able to. I heard somewhere $3 per bag to deliver by the hotel, but Id rather not pay that if I don't have to. Thx!!!
  11. So do you have to pay extra for the welcome dinner per person? We are having around 50 guests, and I was under the impression we had to pay extra? They will all be staying at the palace too.
  12. DanandJamie, your pictures are awesome!!!! Did you guys extend your reception time past three hours? It looks like yall had a blast!!! I love the sky lanterns, where did you guys get yours? I am thinking about doing that, but not sure if its more of a hassle, what are your thoughts?
