  1. I was told by Cecilia that you have to select one entree menu option, but does anyone know if this applies to buffet or just the plated dinner option? I know on the website they give like 3 or 4 options for each of the appetizer, salad, and entree with the buffet so I guess I am a little confused! Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Does anyone know if the photographer from the resort has a website to look at their pictures? Also, I have the Ultimate package and it says it comes with 50 full color photos and 1 album. Anyone who had or has the same package and went with the resort photographer do you know exactly what this means? Do they give you a CD with the 50 photos etc? Also, does this include pictures from the ceremony, cocktail, and reception? Thanks so much!
  3. Hi ladies! I have just about 3 months to go until the big day and I am feeling more lost than ever! I really have no clue what all I should be doing ahead of time (what I should and shouldnt be coordinating with the wedding coordinators) and what all will be done once we arrive at the resort. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! As far as selecting menus, cake, flowers and decorations etc. is most of that done at the resort with the wedding coordintors or ahead of time? For those of you who brought your own decorations, did you let the wedding coordinators know ahead of time or just let them know when you got there? For those of you who brought or are bringing your own music for the ceremonies, how exactly did you do that (like Ipod, cd) and how many songs did you plan to play for the ceremony? Also, did you all bring your own music for the reception for the DJ to play? Also, did you all get to select the DJ or did they just give you one? For those who did the symbolic ceremony, did they let you choose your own wording/length for the ceremony? Does anyone know if they allow you to bring in your own minister for the symbolic ceremony and if so, is there an extra fee? I have also seen pictures of different chairs used for the ceremony (like silver or chivalri chairs). Does anyone know how much extra these are? Thank you so much for all of your help! Jessica
  4. Is there a specific part of the resort that anyone would recommend staying in? How do the dolphin rooms compare to the tower rooms? Thanks ladies!
  5. Thanks for answering all of my questions, it definitely helps! I think I am going to go ahead and use the DJ and also switch my ceremony time to allow more time for pictures. I was mainly worried about guests standing around waiting (while we take pictures), but it seems like they are willing to accomodate and serve drinks before then, which is good to hear! May I also ask how your experience was with the symbolic ceremony? We are still debating between the symbolic and the legal. Thanks!
  6. Congratulations ladies! Hope you have a wonderful time and looking forward to reading reviews! Have any brides done (or are you doing) the legal ceremony? If so, how does the process work with the blood testing? How does the legal ceremony differ from the symbolic? Thanks!
  7. Hi Ladies, Thanks for the responses to my last post. I have been reading through this forum and it definitely eases some of my worries that I previously had about going forward with this resort. Does anyone know whether a dance floor is needed on the terrace for the reception? Also what did everyone do for music during the reception? How were the DJ services for those who purchased them? What did those of you do for music that did not have a DJ? Any helpful hints on timing of the ceremony, cocktail, and dinner and including time for pictures? Mine are currently scheduled back to back (3, 4 and 5 p.m.) I want to be sure to have enough time for pictures and I really do not want to do pictures before hand. Just not sure where pictures would fit in! If any previous brides could comment on this that would be great and very helpful! Good luck to all of the brides getting married over this next week! I am looking forward to hearing your opinions and reviews on everything! Thanks so much ladies!
  8. Hello all Dreams Brides! I just came upon this website and this thread and have some questions for you all. I am getting married at Dreams in Cancun on November 10, 2012. I recently contacted a travel agent to inquire about helping me make travel arrangements for guests and I was a little disappointed with the response that I got back about the resort. I was told to really consider whether I should have my wedding here and that service and communication is just terrible. I have been in contact with Cecilia from the resort and communication has been really slow (took almost 6 weeks to get a response at one point). I am a little worried after hearing the travel agents thoughts on this resort and I am unsure as to whether I should go forward with this resort for my wedding. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this? For those who have had their wedding here, did you have a positive or negative experience and would you recommend going forward? Also any thoughts on booking travel with the resort or going through a travel agent?? Thanks everyone! Your help is greatly appreciated! Jessica
