Here are our tables. I didn't ask for anything special (nor did I even specify the color of the chair bows) besides asking for colorful flowers instead of the examples they had in the flower brochure. -V-

Thanks! To ease your mind, I'm posting these two pictures. I don't think anyone really noticed that the decorations were bright white, my dress ivory, and his suit off-white. -V-

I have more examples of things that didn't get followed up on by the staff. It just goes to show how inconsistent they can be - so I reiterate - if something is *truly* important, don't rely on them completely to get the job done exactly how you want it. -V-
  4. From the one article I read, it seems the parents refused to take her in to do a cat scan to make sure all of her internal organs were ok. Sure she seems OK now but what about later? Maybe that child would have a better chance at a longer life if her parents would do the responsible thing and make sure everything is ok. -V-
  5. I love Dreams but I don't think their staff is very efficient. My ManOfHonor left a pair of shoes at the front desk for them to give to us and we never got a message nor did they try to deliver them to our room for the 3 more days we were at the resort. Then when we found out they had the shoes, they tried to charge us an arm and a leg to ship them to us claiming that my MOH had said to not deliver them to our our room (what a lie!!!!.) We had our own aisle runner which Sandra said someone would get from us but no one ever came so we had to go deliver it to her ourselves. We had to ask 3 times for our wedding DVD which was finally delivered to us at 10:30pm the night before our departure (but not the raw footage which we had also asked for.) Sooo, while I give Sandra and Landy great credit for what they do, I don't really trust the front desk and staff to do anything 100%. If you want the job 100% well done without any worries you should probably pass out the bags yourselves. -V-

Ours didn't get put up until right before the ceremony but it was then used for the next ceremony that we saw while we were there. Even if Landy sends an exact figure over, it might be wise to allow for some leeway. -V- PS. Sunbride, those decorations were beautiful. I wish Dreams would use that set up as the default.
  7. I have a Braun X'elle silk epil. It has those little rollers that are supposed to confuse your nerve endings as the hair is getting yanked out. The first few times will definitely hurt more and it will get easier as time goes on (on a pain scale of 1-10, I would rate it a 1-2 right now, 6-7 at the beginning.) I've been doing it for years now on my legs and arms. Some areas definitely hurt more than others. Pulling the skin taunt helps a bit. G'luck! -V-
  8. We happened to be in GA for our AHR so we gave it to my MIL to deal with it however she saw fit. The check was from her sister who lives there. We received another check in the mail 2 months later (signed!!!!.) -V-

Even when people fill out their names, it's not always legible! The UV pen is a great idea.
  10. We received an unsigned check as a wedding present. Need I say more? -V-

It turns out I have my eyes closed in our big group picture. I didn't notice it until I looked at it close up. We also didn't get shots of just the girls or just the guys in the wedding party. If you have any shots that you think are a must just write up a list. She's very sweet and accommodating. -V-
  12. We were perfectly happy with our Dreams Tulum wedding. We were not nickled and dimed nor were there any other weddings on our day. I think they only double book during high season. The only complaint about costs I got was from one of my guests who decided to stay for a whole week instead of a long weekend. -V-
  13. I wore these in the sand (my dress was ivory): I had bought them on Zappos at full price but they're now available at 6pm.com (their "clearance" site.) Depending on the formality of the wedding and the dress color, I saw these other shoes that might do: Hope that's a good starting point. -V-
  14. I wore 4" wedge sandals with ankle straps. I didn't have any problems walking on the sand but I definitely felt more secure when I reached the aisle runner we put down on the sand. By the time the picture time came around, I had completely forgotten I was wearing heels on the beach. Hope that helps. -V-

Also, any other recommendations you have for me to prepare or that you liked & disliked, I would love to hear!! Thank you, Laura I figure a late reply is better than no reply. November for us was a wonderful time to get married. We had beautiful weather almost every day. The day of the wedding there were some ominous clouds in the sky several hours before the ceremony, but like every other day, they cleared out by afternoon. It did rain one afternoon while we were there but we had been ensconced in the spa all afternoon so it did not affect us. Sandra and Landy were always busy around the property preparing one wedding or another. We were supposed to get a written contract to sign before the wedding but we never did get that. We also did not have flowers on the ceremony table like we were supposed to have in the Ultimate Package; and my husband was upset that he track Sandra down to get his boutonniere before the ceremony. I had given her the room number after she delivered my bouquet but she never made it to the next building? It was also hard to meet up with Sandra to actually pay for the wedding package. That worked out in our favor since it then went on the next credit card cycle. On the plus side, my bouquet was beeeeeautiful. I showed Sandra a picture of a bouquet I loved because of its bright colors and told her that I wanted something bright like that. Nothing in the flower brochure was really what I wanted. The result captured the spirit and the intent. We were also not charged for some extra boutonieres and instead of the included photography package, received extra video time. Unfortunately, even though Sandra assured us we could get the actual footage of the wedding, that never arrived (even though we gave her the address, typed, twice.) We only have the DVD and although it's pretty good, some of the things the videographer did were rather cheesy. You will be perfectly happy if you are not too picky on how you want things done and resist the urge to micro-manage. And also, do plan on a flexible time line. Our wedding gazebo/trellis didn't get set up until the time of the ceremony, so obviously, we didn't start on time. Overall things were beautiful. Don't sweat the small stuff. -V-
