New Princess resort in Riviera Maya

Recommended Posts

I agree with Edyta...apparently they're way behind in just about everything and still pretty disorganized (my grandparents were supposed to be there this week but got moved to another resort because their TA had just come back and said it's not ready for guests yet).

I'd even wait a little while longer before contacting them again to give them time to get their s@#$ sorted out.

I met the wedding coordinator Damarys there in late November so I know she really does exist (although she was very disorganized at the time, had no information for us, and missed our meeting (we found her on the way out). I don't know what happened to Damarys after they opened though! My TA called the hotel and they told her to have me contact Damarys using the email I'd already used and that email had be done for a little while and now it is back up, but after writing her again, I have yet to hear back from her. So I dont know what is up! People are getting married there next month (according to tripadvisor) so somebody has to be working!

Hello everyone! Just when I thought I had narrowed it down to a few hotels to decide between...I saw your thread! Thanks so much for pictures and info. The price for the beach party of $60 including music, food and drinks seem really reasonable compared to other hotel costs. Has anyone heard anything anyone this option or have any input? Thanks!

Where else are you thinking of going on your site visit? If your ceremony is a bit away, it might be good to check out the Princess Resort, but if its soon then they may too "new" to be efficient. ....I will also likely be having about 75+ and am hoping to get down for my site visit fairly soon so I'd be interested in hearing where else you will be visiting- have fun in Cancun!!!

My wedding will be in November. Yes, I know a lot of people !!!!

My mom and I will be visiting Dreams Tulum, Paradisus and Azul View.

Azul View is scheduled to open in August so I'm not sure if all the kinks will be worked out by November. BUT, I just love the Azul Beach concept. So I'm willing to see it.

I'll post full reports when I get back. Seems like I should be seeing more hotels while I'm down there but I also like that I've narrowed down my choices.

I seriously wouldn't recommend getting married their anytime soon. The hotel is gorgeous but I really don't think they are anywhere near ready to host a wedding...sorry don't mean to discourage anyone but I thnk u will b dissapointed with slow service and a lot of unorganization at the time...it's your wedding so I think you should b at a resort that has been functioning for a while such as Dreams Cabo where they know what their doing

Give the princess atleast another 8 months to b where it should

can't wait - I was also debating waiting until Nov to get married b/c I wanted to get married at a Karisma propertythat allows kids but I expect way more than the maximum of 60 guests that Azul Beach allows. I visited Azul View at the end of November and thery had a lot of work to do still (just the skeletal structure was built. I'd love to hear what progress was made! The one thing I didn't like about Azul View and Paradisus, which is nice about Dreams Tulum and Princess, is that the former 2 are next to many other buildings and hotels, whereas the latter 2 feel more secluded and less crowded. Paradisus has a gorgeous pool, Dreams Tulum seemed to have a great beach area, and Azul View will be beautiful according to the mock-ups.

Princess is at a totally different price point - everyone will be able to go and stay longer b/c of the price, but if everyone can afford the other 3, maybe you should go with one of them. For me, we decided that taking the risk so that the guests will only pay 1/2 as much was worth it for our guests, but I have a lot of anxiety all the time because of it!! Of course, I'm getting married off property, but I'm still planning welcome drinks and a welcome/rehearsal dinner for 100 people at Grand Riviera Maya / Sunset Princess, so we'll see!

ccarmany23 - I heard $60 pp for the buffet beach party, including alcohol, which seems like a good deal to me too, except that I wanted a sit-down dinner for my guests (which I'll get at Al Cielo). But if you're happy w/buffet and your wedding isn't for a while, it sounds good! They also offer $75 pp for a sit-down dinner in a conference room, but I wouldn't want to be in a conference room. I'm trying to find out about renting one of the restaurants for my welcome dinner, but all I know is that she saved May 3 for me. Hopefully lemon will have more details soon as she is actually getting married there in May.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
