From past openings, Hyatt Ziva hotels are normally other resorts who are being rebranded and purchased by Hyatt. With a little help from google, I noticed this we the former Ritz Carlton Rose Hall resort- so start by reading the reviews from there and it will give you an idea (minus the amenities) I stayed at the Barcelo Palace Deluxe 3 months before it converted to Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and then again after conversion and there weren't many changes aside from the name on the door.

Hi! I work in the travel industry and my suggestion would be to not do this. When new hotels open (regardless of if they're former properties with new ownership), they always have some kinks to work out that usually last three months or so. And that's assuming it opens on time (they usually don't unfortunately.)

Hyatt overall is an awesome brand, but also keep in mind that it has several levels - for example Grand Hyatts are in a different class than Hyatt Regency - and prices and service levels reflect that. Also, Hyatt is relatively new to the all-inclusive concept. Just fyi.

HI Jeffandrobyn

I am aware that it does take some time to work out any kinks, my wedding is a full year after the opening. I wasn't aware of the levels of the Hyatt, but thanks, I'm going to look into it now. I do know that the all inclusive part is run (?) by Playa resorts. The other Hyatt's seem to have great reviews.

I'd be too scared since we rely on reviews for a lot of our purchases and decisions on places! But I am sure it will be gorgeous!

Hi

I was also interested in this hotel/location because it is formerly Dreams Cancun and it has a wonderful private gazebo for the ceremony site. I actually almost booked another location thinking it was the same one. But as i keep researching, it saysit's not due to open until late 2015.... not 2014. Do you have any more details about that?

Ignore me. .. different location. Sorry!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
