My DIY Chapstick Labels for OOT Bag *With Pics and Template!*

HI ladies!

 

Even though I have already done a lot of DIY things for my wedding in June 2013, this is the first thing I have started a thread on so bare with me....

 

I mentioned in the thread for my resort (Azul Sensatori) that I made these and there was a lot of interest.. so here goes:

 

I bought the chapstick from a website called Bulk Apothecary for .14 cents/chapstick with NO MINIMUM! Whooo! I ordered 50. Talk about cheap! These are the ones I bought: http://www.bulkapothecary.com/containers/lip-balm-tubes-jars-and-tins/white-stick-standard-15-oz-lip-balm-tube/

 

The picture shows a blue chapstick but it is clear (and tastes like regular chapstick). I am very happy with the quality.

The website also offers the labels you need in order to make your chapsticks personalized. The sheets are only $1 per sheet and there are 15 labels/sheet.

 

Once my items came in the mail I got to work designing my label. I dabble in graphic design and find it very fun! 

 

When I was ready to print my labels I was able to find a template for them online here: (You can also ask Bulk Apothecary and they will email you a template)

At first I messed up because I thought the orientation of the label was top to bottom, but its left to right (sideways) so I had to tweek my design and upload the design into the template sideways.

 

Once I got that straightened out I was good to go and all I had to do was put the stickers on my chapstick tubes. I have to say I am so pleased with how they came out and I think they will really be a hit!

 

One side says MEXICO Wedding Week June 2013 Azul Sensatori Riviera Maya, MX

and the other says Besos! Meg & Dan

 

Sorry for the kind of crappy picture quality. I was trying to get the stick from all angles and I tried some with flash and some without.

Quick Question....

 

I think the first link you posted (http://www.bulkapothecary.com/containers/lip-balm-tubes-jars-and-tins/white-stick-standard-15-oz-lip-balm-tube/) is just for the empty tubes of chapstick. If I'm not mistaken, the actually chapsticks are at this link http://www.bulkapothecary.com/lip-balm/white-stick-lip-balm-comes-in-6-great-flavors-starting-at-19-unit/ and are .28 cents per chapstick (still an amazing deal!)

 

I just wanted to clarify b/c I almost made the mistake of ordering the empty ones!

 

Someone please correct me if I'm looking at this wrong!

Interesting you read the product description that way. I understood it as the first link being cheaper due to the fact that you couldn't choose from the 6 flavors. Also, they do have this product which says right across the picture "empty tubes" http://www.bulkapothecary.com/lip-balm/empty-lip-balm-tubes-available-in-black-white-or-clear-stick-starting-at-06-unit/ Because of this I ordered the ones that were .14 cents each that I linked to. BUT they did come empty. I was convinced that the wording was poor and since the other tubes said "empty" that I hadn't ordered the wrong thing. I emailed them and politely explained my confusion. They immediately sent me tubes that were not empty for free- no questions asked. They never really clarified if those ones for .14 cents are. MEANT to be empty or not. :/

I agree. The description is VERY poorly written. The only reason I realized it is because it says "Empty" on my internet tab when I clicked on the link. Also in the description it says "tubes hold .15 oz". And the other ones that are .28 cents say "pre-filled." Very poorly written and I'm sure people have made this mistake before so I'm glad we were able to clarify this! Very nice of them to send you the correct ones at no additional charge.  They should really fix their description and write EMPTY across the picture on that link!
