Marina Maroma for Ceremony & Reception, Azul Beach

Recommended Posts

I'm considering Azul Beach but their wedding contact told me that they cannot accommodate more than 60 or so guests for a ceremony and reception, and I'm expecting (guessing) I'll have around 100 or so. They suggested the guests stay at Azul Beach but that I have my ceremony and reception at Marina Maroma. Some of the photos on the Marina Maroma site look a little cheesy, and they don't have many photos, and I can't find much info about them. I'm wondering if anyone here has had their wedding there, and if the food was good and if the setting was pretty?

Has anyone else had guests stay at Azul Beach but have their ceremony and reception elsewhere?

You may be at Marina Maroma? Yes I'd love photos! I'll PM you my email.

The contact for Marina Maroma weddings, Monica (she seems to be affiliated with Karisma's El Dorado resorts) provided me with tentative menus that will be offered at Marina Maroma, and unfortunately they do not look appetizing to me as they are VERY different from the Karisma menus. They are more traditional Mexican seafood and meat and offer less options that work for my group, as I don't want to serve shellfish or pork. So now I am thinking that Marina Maroma is not really an option? But I'm still curious for photos!

I see on your site that you do wedding catering...do you have menus and packages you can email me in addition to the Marima Maroma photos, and do you offer semi-private beach ceremony and reception locations near to Azul Beach that have a palapa in case of rain?

Thanks!

Yazmin,

Thanks I look forward to the photos! Do you know if it is possible to have a wedding there but with catering from whichever catering company you choose (in other words, other than the Marina Maroma catering menu)? Do you think the setting felt like it could be made to look elegant, or was it very casual?

Hi!

I have already send to you the photos!

Sorry, no external vendors allowed there.

The beach normally is nice (but since they are doing all the tours there they have a lot of jet skis and boats) but i guess it can be beautiful decorated in the night... It has been raining a lot on the past days so there was much rain water over the sand (puddles? you will see it on the photos).

The Hotel besides (Mi Pueblito) has a Chapel for 100 people more less and the hotel is cute but with almost no beach, and again you are not allowed to bring any external vendors.

Regards, Yazmin.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
