Best Resorts in Turks and Caicos?

nsblum - thanks so much for your advice! I did end up booking the Somerset and I have been working with Diane who has been great. I'm also doing my rehearsal at Bay Bistro. We are not going to have the opportunity to get down before the wedding which made picking the location a bit stressful! It also makes the food choices tough since we won't be able to do a tasting. If you have any recommendations for the cocktail hour/reception at the somerset and/or the rehearsal dinner at Bay Bistro, please let me know! I would love to hear about what worked/didn't work for you. Also, thanks for recommending Shenique. Did she do hair/makeup for your bridal party as well? Also, we were planning to use the Atabeyra on Thursday night for a sunset sail - hopefully it will be ok for the group!

Thanks again! It sounds like you had an amazing wedding experience there which is great to hear!

Hi ladies!!! I'm baaaack! We had out wedding at the Somerset Nov.13th (Diane was the WC), sunset welcome cruise with Atabeyra and rehearsal dinner at Bay Bistro. I have reviews coming soon on everyone and everything. We just got back from honeymoon so I am a bit exhausted still. PM me if anyone needs specifics or details on what works, what didn't and who to use.

Janine, welcome back - I saw your pictures on Brilliants website - you looked beautiful :)  Congrats!  I'm anxious to hear your reviews as well.  I'm basically having the same wedding weekend as you!  Snorkeling cruise on the Atabeyra, Rehearsal with Bay Bistro (on the  beach) and ceremony and reception at the Somerset!  Can't wait to hear all about it!

Thanks Brianna, I just wanted to let all the ladies know that my reviews of everything from my wedding and honeymoon will be posted on my blog. I will be posting a very short review on the hotel on this board (since they took away the review forum and you now have to post it under the individual hotel the space seems so limited). So my reviews for vendors, hotels, everything you can imagine will be on my blog: http://www.miamigirlislandbride.blogspot.com

If you don't find it there, you can always pm me here and ask me. Good luck to all the brides planning and I hope my reviews help steer you in the right direction!!

Hi there ...... thank you so very much for all your help Krys at Brilliant....you can't imagine how reassuring it is to have someone to ask questions especially when we live so far away and cant just pop in the car and drive over there!!  You are really very very helpful and we all appreciate it very much!!!  We are coming to visit in June 1-5 to check out The Regent Palms, Ganservoort, The Veranda, The Somerset, and Windsong.......would you make appointments ahead of time or just go to the resort while we are there to check it out.  We arrive on a Wed and leave on Sun afternoon.  Has anyone had a recent wedding at the Regent Palms or a recent past event there.  Thats the number 1 choice so far but I will know more when we meet with the individual hotels.  Should we try to get some quotes before going down there or just wait and do it all in June....the wedding is not until Spring of 2012 but I know it comes quickly and I want to book the hotel sooner rather than later.  Thank you so much for any help you can give.  I am renting a car from Grace Bay car rentals so we can go and come as we please.....do you all think its necessary...we are staying at the Windsong....they were very pleasant and helpful on the phone.

Thanks, I am happy to help. If you can make appts with all of the hotels I would just so you can make your schedule ahead of time and enjoy some of your time on island as well.  I would pick one or two days and meet with 2 one day and 3 the next and then you aren't running around the whole time.  Right now they are in full swing with high season, and you probably won't get quotes until you get there, but it never hurts to ask when you get in contact to set up the meeting.  Grace Bay car rentals are great, and staying at Windsong, I think you'll be happy you have a car to get around in.  It'll be good value for money vs taxis and you can check out some of the wonderful restaurants on island and even some of the little shopping areas.  (Our personal favorite is Coco Bistro) You usually have to book reservations at least 2-3 days in advance but it is spectacular!

hope that helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
