El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

So I am in the final 6 weeks and I feel like I have nothing completed! We loved the beauty of the resort itself so we are keeping reception area simply. The final details I am worrying about now are the Flowers for my bouquet, and my MOH and Boutonnieres for Groom and Best Man.

Those Brides that already had their wedding did you do boutonnieres for the father and corsages for the mothers?

I swear I had something else I wanted to ask but I am totally blanking! I am sure I will be post more soon! And of course at work things have been slow until now and I am slammed here and running around crazy at night getting wedding things completed!   girl_werewolf.gif I can wait for the beach!

No great cake here - we did cupcakes, and the upside is that they do cream cheese frosting on those, so they were somewhat tasty. But they were a waste - many weren't eaten because the dessert that came with dinner was amazing (we had the Tres Leches cake). In hindsight, I wish we'd done the small cake for cutting, and not worried about a big cake or cupcakes for everyone.

cupcakes (we brought the stand rather than rent one for $25, also brought the toppers):

700

tres leches dessert:

700

With the private reception we get a dessert, which we chose as mango cheesecake, so everyone will have that in leiu of wedding cake. Since we did want to have the cake "ceremony" with the cutting and all that, our WC offered us a "petite" cake that's only $30. We'll do that so we can get some pictures, but it's not breaking the bank by any means. And if it's bad I won't feel like I wasted my money, since we'll still have the cheesecake.

I did corsages & bouts for the mothers & fathers. Ours were real touch flowers though. my MIL ended up wearing hers in her hair and my (now) husband forgot to give his father his bout. Oh well. I'd say don't stress about them - if you can do them, great, if not, don't worry..

You are getting so close!

We opted for a small cutting cake and paid to upgrade to carrot cake... it was great!!! My cousin got married at EDR and had vanilla cake that was very dry, so maybe since we had a custom flavor, they made it more fresh!

How much did you pay for the cupcakes?  I like the idea of cream cheese frosting!

We did a bout and corsage for my husband's father and mother. But I think it's a personal choice if you want to do it or not. 700

I think my MIL wore hers on the dress.  This is a photo of the bouts. (we got married at Sensatori, but it's the same flower supplier.)

Keep in mind for the cupcakes you need a minimum order. I believe they were $8 each? At first we were going to just get two so we could just do the cake feeding with us, but then found out you had to order a minimum.

These are beautiful!!!

I'm debating the large arrangements for the sides of the gazebo, I'm glad to see the flowers are good quality!

My entire bouquet and the bouts, etc are all made out of shells and starfish and gems and ribbon.

No pics to post yet, but if it turns out like I hope it should be something to see!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
