El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I would be freaking out! Are you trying now to go lighter or darker? I had that happen right before I went on a cruise to the caribbean a couple years ago. The sun and saltwater actually ended up toning the blonde. It was originally extremely brassy and orange but by the end of the cruise it was platinum. Good luck! And make them eat the cost! Not cool! [/b]

SO i went to get some highlights in my hair last night since I am a dark blonde and thought it would be nice to have it be a tad lighter... they basically bleached a majority of my head!!! After I almost burst into tears at the salon, they used toner to try and add some color back since I was already their last appointment, but after I got home, I spent a good amount in tears :crybaby2: The change in hair color is so drastic I dont even look like myself! Unfortunately the entire salon is doing hair today for an off-site fashion show so they cant fix it today. I am really hoping they can squeeze me in on Saturday since we leave on Sunday, but I am so nervous that they wont be able to fix it enough... 2 days before you leave for your wedding is not the time to be feeling like you are not pretty :embarrest:

Good luck!

I had asked him to lighten it up a bit with some highlights and I think he basically just put bleach all over the top parts of my hair and then left it on for about 25 minutes. When I spoke with the owener of the salon today, they said they would soak it in a toner again, but use a darker toner, so I would still have the dimensions and some highlights, but they would be toned down. I asked if it might be better to actually put darker "highlights" in it and he said that he thought it would be healthier for my hair to use the toner and that it would darken everything up a bit. I am very worried that it might still be too blonde, but now more so that they will make it too dark!

I never wanted anything drastic and I have been going to this salon for over a year and have gotten highlights from them before. The stylist knew my wedding was coming up so I am not sure why he ever thought that I wanted a drastic change! With having to take my dog to the vet tomorrow, finish last minute packing/wedding stuff, and now going back in for my hair appt... I am so nervous/anxious I think I am giving myself an ulcer!

Ugh i just need to get down to Mexico and relax!... hopefully with hair that makes me feel pretty again and doesnt make me cry cry.gif

UGH - that is so frustrating! I hate having hair issues and totally understand why you would be freaking out. I hope the toner works out for you. I, also, would have though putting in a darker low light vs. applying more toner would have been a good option, but I'm not a hairdresser, so what do I know. Keep us posted. I'm sorry you are dealing with this right now! So stressful!!!

so wait. first they screw up your color, then they tell you they damaged your hair so bad they can't fix it? and they CHARGED you for this?

call the salon manager and talk to them. at the very least, if they are afraid to damage it more, they need to give you back your $$. or offer to help you get it healthy again and then fix the color for FREE.

sorry, I'm steamed on your behalf!! hissyfit.gif

Well I think they think they can fix it tomorrow morning by adding a darkening toner. *fingers crossed*

The owner was the person that helped me darken it last night from the platinum because he saw tears welling up in my eyes. He called me this morning after I left a tearful message on their machine when I woke up and look in the mirror, so he is squeezing me in tomorrow. At this point, I just want them to fix it and then just think of it as a sunk cost. Rest assured I will refuse to leave the salon tomorrow until my hair is what I want and unfortunately, I don't think if I will be returning.

Ohhh my god you poor thing! I'm sure they'll take care of it, and remember that you honestly will look beautiful no matter what (just think... hair done, makeup, a little tan, beautiful dress, sun shining) that I'm sure the hair will seem like much less of a tragedy when you're actually there enjoying yourself... it is so awful dealing with the initial shock right now, though, that is not what you need!! :( Good luck getting everything fixed! We'll be here when you get back, excited to hear all about and see pictures from your wonderful trip ! :)

ok - I know you ladies will appreciate this bit of silliness: I got my personalized hanger today that says "mrs. moore". i got all giddy and teary eyed at the same time.

holy crap! I'm going to be mrs moore in 6 months!!! I say silly b/c we've been engaged since last July. I have my dress, I've even done a fitting. I have a pile of wedding stuff (including the invites) in my craft room. but yet, that darn hanger is "the moment" when it all became real.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
