El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Well my FI's passport came, so we can officially go to Mexico for the wedding.

And Natalia finally, finally confirmed that Tucanes became available for our reception. Two big items checked off!!

I noticed in a couple of the Lomas Miscellaneous gallery pics (http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/gallery/photo.php?category_gallery=Ceremonies) there are a few pics of fabric draped at the reception venues. Have any of you asked about pricing for that? I'm guessing it's exhorbant, given their pricing for a few yards of fabric for the gazebo... but dang, it's gorgeous!!!

Allie-

Were you talking about these types of drapes?? If so, they are $150 a piece, so $300 to make it look like the below drapes. We are doing the same draping on Gazebo 55 (same Gazebo in picture), but with different color blue sashes.

They use MAC makeup at the salon.

My cousin got married at EDR and had Claudia Photo do her photography. She is an approved vendor so no fee and she did a great job! Claudia Photo has a lot of good reviews on this site if you wanted to take a look.

Claudia Photo isn't one of the vendors anymore :( We booked Citlalli Rico forever ago while they were still on the list but there was some sort of miscommunication and they tried to charge us an outside vendor fee, fortunately they took care of it. I got really upset for a minute there because we already paid the deposit and everything

My idea was to have them go off when they introduce you at the reception... like when you walk in and they announce "Here is Mr and Mrs Wolfert" light them and that can be your entrance. That was my idea but I can't understand why they don't have them anymore. She quoted them to me a couple months ago but now is saying they don't do them anymore.

Maybe you could find a DJ that includes them? DJ Doremixx includes them in his packages.

I'm not sure if I really want to drape the gazebo at all honestly. I've got two orange parasols that I'll use on it, and aqua & orange paper lanterns too.

here's what I was referring to:

I  just love how that changes the roof and makes it more like a tent. this is still set up for a ceremony, but I'd love to know if they can do that to tucanes for a reception. and how much it'd cost... lol that combined with the lanterns would be gorgeous.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
