One of my friend's fianc© is from Thailand, and they've offered to connect us with his family there if/when we go.

I'm tempted to buy the fancy starfish sandals like TheWolforts has. I can justify it, right?? i mean, I only spent $35 on my wedges, and if I DIY the veil successfully, that's a big savings. Not to mention what I've saved by doing a sash & hair flower on etsy - the bridal shop wanted $500 for a similar sash! So $100 for a fancy pair of sandals is reasonable, right? lol

That's fantastic that you will have a local hook up. That should help a lot for figuring out where to go, what to see, etc. If you want any info about we did, just ask and I'll send you info.

As for $100 shoes...you can totally justify it. Especially since they are so cute, and you will wear them again on the beach, with a cute sundress, etc. !

Sounds like a great DIY project! Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

I checked out Avon's website and those starfish sandals are on sale for $14.99!

For anyone looking for Starfish sandals, Avon has some in their new catalogue as well. I think they were about $30.

We have a meeting with our minister (who is also a close friend of ours) this evening to discuss the order of events for the ceremony, as I am trying to order our ceremony programs this week, but I am at a loss for the wording, what to put in the program, and even the order we want things! Help!

help me NOT blow a gasket here. I finally got an email back from Natalia who informs me while we have the Gazebo 55 for our ceremony, another group has Tucanes booked for dinner, and instead they've made dinner reservations for us at the restaurant. I'm FURIOUS. I requested this over a month ago, and heard nothing. And now all of a sudden my requested location for the reception is booked? She said they "might" cancel and we'll know more next week.

So...since I don't want our private reception in a semi-private restaurant, any suggestions for alternative locations?? Ugh, I'm steaming...

Meeting with our minister went well! I now feel a lot better that we know what will be going on and I can start getting the programs together!

I am not sure how many guests you are expecting, but maybe the health bar could work? It's right next to a pool as well, but it is right off of the main pathway though

We have 40 guests and are having our private reception in the Salon Dorado. The space looks very pretty in pictures and since our wedding is in the middle of May, we wanted our guests to be in a/c for the dancing! I begged them to let us use the culinary theater space, especially since it is only open select nights, but they wouldnt budge. I think I still might push it when I get down there, especially if I end up not really liking the Salon Dorado

My cousin had her reception on a Saturday at La Isla, which is right next to the main pool. I believe she had about 55 guests, but in order for them to consider shutting the restaurant down, they had to pay for about 64. It was a great space and very similar to the feel of Tucanes, where they had their rehearsal dinner. There were a few rowdy guests still at the pool, but they left shortly.

Hope this helps! Sorry about missing out on the space you wanted I was terrified that someone would book the spaces we wanted so I have had our ceremony and reception space booked since March 2011! I'm such an over planner though

I'm so glad the meeting went well!! Will you share your ceremony when you get it all laid out? That's an item I forgot to add to my list.

We are expecting about 40, and she offered the Health Bar as an alternative. I think we will probably hold that, and then hope Tucanes becomes available.

I like the idea of the culinary theater. that sounds like it would be cool!!

The Salon is probably a smart choice for the summer. I figured we'd want to enjoy the nice fall air outside, unless it rains.

Natalia also corrected me and told me she made the restaurant reservation for the night before, as our rehearsal dinner - whew. bridezilla moment....

I love that the culinary theatre is ceiling to floor windows, so it gives you the look of the outdoors, but with the a/c!

            May 6th is coming fast!

Natalia said Fuentes (Culinary Theater) isn't available for private functions. So they are still holding to that line. She said she's 80% sure Tucanes will become available for us, so we'll wait and see before I go bridezilla on her.

Our Mad Libs/Guest Book came today from VistaPrint. checking another item off the list!
