Recommended Posts

Hello.... I just realized that the post I created earlier introducing myself did post. sad.gif

Recently engaged in Hawaii in October... planning a site visit to EDR with future hubby next weekend. We want Nov. 5, 2011 bu we're told that only the 4pm slot is open. is that too late for a november wedding?? i hope not.

please let me know if there's anything we should be keeping in mind as we go down to do our visit. I would love to do the ceremony at Gazebo 55 and then reception at Tuscanes (sp?) .

Thanks! (this forum has been super helpful!)

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum and very excited to see a thread on EDR!! We are having a DW there 11~11~11. We have stayed at this resort 3 times! it is the first vacation we took together and it has held a special place in our hearts since our first visit, IT IS Amazing! I have met many brides who had their wedding at this resort and everyone has always been Very Happy with everything. We have also stayed at ED Maroma ~ beautiful also! That is were my FI proposed, unexpectedly, at sunset on the beach... It was perfect :)

My Lomas coordinator is Carolina. We visted the resort last month and met with her and choose our location~ Gazebo 55 !! It is a beautiful location at the end of the resort. Away from the mainstream of the resort. She has been very helpful, communicating via email. Quick to answer my questions and reassuring! :o! It gets overwhelming trying to make all these plans so far away. If you have any questions about the resort feel free to ask me! I look forward to reading everyones posts~ it is sooo helpful!

We just got back from our wedding at EDR on Dec 1, 2010 and it was amazing!  Girls you and your guests will all love this resort!  I'll be writing my full review soon, but I just wanted to give my thoughts on your question.

The one thing my husband and I would change is our times.  We had a 4pm ceremony(Gazebo 55), cocktails at 6pm(Health Bar), dinner at 7pm(Tucanes Bar/Pool).  There was enough time in between all the events, but the sun goes down so early so we were scrammbling to get photos done after the ceremony before we lost light.  Also, private events end at 11pm, so if we had had our ceremony at 3pm and dinner at 6pm we would have had more dancing time!  Just little details, but things you think of after!!  (we also only had our photographer-Citlalli Rico-for 3 hours so that affected our photo rush!  We wish we could have afforded to have her longer, she was so great and worth every penny!)

Yikes!  I'm getting married in 2 weeks and also have a 4pm wedding.  I wonder if we should try and move it up a half hour or so?  I'm sure the resort could accomodate and then still have our dinner at 6:00pm.  Except that might mess up the spa appointments.  Ugh!

So excited that you loved Citalli though.  I'm using her too and very excited!!

There is wi-fi in the main lobby only, as far as I know, but we didn't use it.  The lobby also has pay internet (3 computers) half an hour for $6US.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
