El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

It's official, I am now an EDR Bride, We booked our Casita and Saved our date yesterday. My wedding date is June 11, 2011. I always wanted to be married in a church so was planning on the chapel, but I worry if "a beach ceremony" is what a destination wedding is all about.

Any Chapel brides at EDR please let me know if you made the right choice.

I have Valeria's contact info, should I email or call first as an introduction, I wanna be on her good side. Any thoughtshuh.gif?

I had been in email contact with Valeria and now Priscila(both very nice and helpful). Email seems to be doing the trick! Maybe closer to the date I will call to double check on everything.

Hi Ladies,

I am thinking of having my wedding at El dorado royale. We are going to have over one hundred guests and wanted to know if anyone else has done a party here with that number of guestshuh.gif Have not been out to see it yet, but it looks gorgeous in pics.

Any reviews would be helpfulhuh.gif Thanks!

Hi Traybe!

I'm having 70 guests so not quite 100. It's my understanding that they can accomodate that many. The only caveat is that it will slightly limit your private event options. For example, a popular reception location is Tucanes. But you can only do Tucanes if you have 50 guests or less. We ended up having to do our Rehearsal Dinner at La Isla instead of El Cocotol but still use the El Cocotol menu because of the size of our party...things like that. But honestly I didn't think that any of these concessions will take away from the wedding. I've had a really smooth time with Valeria (my designated coordinator) and I can't wait to actually get there next Tuesday.

I hope this helps.

Steve&julia,

Hey I saw you on the AS ( azul sensatori) site and I guess great minds think alike. I am trying to decide on if we should switch hotels for the honeymoon or not. The choice is stay in honeymoon suit at AS for entire stay or switch after the wedding to ELD marmona or casitas.  FI wants to be reassured that if we move resorts it should be better than the AS.  From the sounds of things you did what we are thinking about doing.  Is ELD CASITAS better, the same, or worse.  Is it worth us changing?  what room did you all get at AS and ELD?  Have pics?  Sorry so many questions!  Its way past my bedtime but very interested in what you have to say about the whole experience!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
