feedback.gif I was hoping to have some help in figuring out what to expect from the rooms at Dreams Tulum. My TA said there is a new section of the resort with the "Dreams" rooms and then there is the old section, but she said they are all really nice. My big fear is that our wedding guests will end up in a terrible room since I've read some pretty bad reviews on TripAdvisor about moldy rooms. Does anyone have pictures of the different rooms? The Honeymoon suite is considerably more expensive and I don't want to go over budget, if the lower rooms are nice enough. TIA

Karen and I were originally booked for a Deluxe Garedenview room but got upgraded to a Dreams Junior Suite when we arrived. The night before the wedding I exercised my right to a private room and I was given a room in the old section right up near the beach. The room was not as nice as the brand new junior suite we got, but it was fine by my standards. It did have a little bit of a moldy smell but thats what happens in tropical environments. If any of your guests get a room they are not happy with have them complain to the front desk. The people there are very friendly and accommodating as long as you are the same towards them.

Overall, I would not hesitate to book a room in the old section. The resort is so awesome that we did not spend much time in the room anyway.

We stayed at Dreams Tulum 7/2-7/7. When I asked the front desk about staying in a "new room" I was told that they did not have new and old rooms. However, they did upgrade us to an ocean view room for $200 in the "old" section. I found the room to suitable for me. It could use a little sprucing up, but it was just fine by my standards. We could literally open the sliding door and we were on the beach and it was very convenient. My sister's mother-in-law stayed at the new section and their room was NEW and very nice but not on the beach. I think your guests will be happy with either section, we had no complaints from the 35 guests that went...that's pretty good considering my family wink.gif As for TripAdvisor I would take complaints with a grain of salt...this is not the Ritz but I'm sure some people would find problems with the Ritz on Trip Advisor too. lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
