Hi everyone,

We've been trying to figure out which photograph to go with, and I've noticed that the Riu does have their own on-site photographer with reasonable prices. However, I have been warned that the quality may not be too great with on-site photographers. Unfortunately, everywhere else I've looked is out of our price range! Does anyone know anything at all about the quality of the photographer's work at the Riu Palace Riviera Mayahuh.gif

I am getting married at Riu Palace Mexico on April 23. I am using the resort photographer Juan Carlos Magallon. We simply could not afford any of the photographers we found outside the resort, plus Riu charges $100 per outside vendor for the day. I was really worried about the quality and style of his photos, since he is so much cheaper than an outside photog. When I brought this up with the WC she got me in contact with him and he emailed me some of his pics. They are beautiful! I got really excited! I like a photojournalistic style, and he definitely surpassed my expectations. He works with Canon SLR digital cameras of 8 megapixels & MacBook Pro computers to edit. We also worked out a custom package with 150 photos on CD, although he takes many more pics than that, and a few prints, but no extras (like leather album, CD to music, etc). We are also only using him for 3 hours - pre-ceremony, ceremony, and post-ceremony - not the reception as we have an outside viedographer, Paul Schranke, coming in for that. (We found Paul on this forum and he is amazing!) Our photo package with Juan is costing us $700.
If you pm me your email address, I will forward you the pics Juan sent me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
