Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

@@lauralc I heard this is the new policy across the board. I would advise you no to move 14 people out the resort  on your wedding day, very stressful. If you feel strongly about not having the resort doing your hair and makeup them, you can leave perhaps with no more than 5 people (the closest to you) because it usually takes 1 hour for hair and makeup per person. Unless they have more than 2 or 3 if the 14 people go out..I think that will inconvenience some

@@LuluMai22 how about some shells, candles (voltives) and sand nicely put together for centerpieces? I did my own trial at home and it looks nice. how about re using your bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces? and rent the vases at $10 each from Lomas? or bring them from home with from the dollar store

Hi gals! We are getting married at Azul Sensatori in September.

We are on a super tight budget so I am going crazy trying to find ways to cut costs at Sensatori. The prices they charge for the add-ons  are outrageous!

I have a million questions but I'd like to start asking what you have done for centerpieces and decorations! I am concerned about  how heavy they will be and customs restrictions.

I am also worried about the bouquets.

Any ideas or pictures to share?

For my tables, I bought maracas (Amois.com), personalized shot glasses (discountmugs.com), chair sashes (tableclothfactory.com), and sparkly red votive candles (Pier 1 after Christmas sale).  I ordered centerpiece flowers and rose petals from Karisma.  Even after buying fresh flowers, the cost a fraction of the price I would have paid if I had gone with one of the decoration packages.  I have heard of brides who bought silk flowers for their bouquets but I wanted real roses.  As long as you don't need something special or exotic, the resort does a nice job. I'm having trouble uploading pictures today but will send some soon.

Soo quick question, for those of you who didn't use a DJ, did you rent the speakers and do it that way with your own music? I also saw that they have a Bose sound system you can rent but it doesn't look big enough... and you can only rent that for two hours. I thought i read somewhere that the speaker rental only had an iPhone 4s compatibility. My fiance is a musician and has his own bose sound system and i am tempted to bring that down but what to know everyone's thoughts first!

@ atyson03- we rented the sound system for 4 hours. It worked really well for us. They had large speakers, a microphone and it connected to our iPod. (if they say it only connects to iPhone 4....you could always buy a Iphone4 to iPhone5 connector here and bring it with you) When we got married we had our cousin MC, but there was a staff member who sat and controlled the sound system for us. He turned on the music and then would fade it as someone came up to use the microphone. We had made playlists at home - dinner 1, dinner 2, dancing 1, dancing 2, etc. That way someone just had to select a playlist and hit play.

We did bring down a compact sound system (similar to a Bose dock) and used that at our cocktail party. It was loud enough for that type of event. But I think for the dinner/dancing/speeches I was really glad we had the larger system and the microphone.

Question about flowers, for those of you who brought silk flowers down, how did you transport them without getting crushed? also if you got real flowers from Lomas, were you able to customize how you wanted the bouquets to look?

I am on the fence between the silk and the real and need help hah!

@@atyson03 YES, I am getting married in 24 days and YES I was able to customize them to my colors, they will work with you (I am confident they will match my pics) silk flowers were not cheap and that is why I did not take that route, plus shipping them to Mexico. so I went real

@@LaurenR I do...give me a few and will post the PDF.

Yes, I sent the pictures to the Miami team, they added ALL my details to the wedding file and samples of my colors and special requests.  I am not a picky person when it comes to flowers, in fact I don't know much about them, my rule #1 one and #2were: real flowers and match my colors, I feel comfortable going with them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
