    Hello Ladies!

Does anyone have any personal experience with the resort photographer at the El Dorado Royale? For those who are getting married there, what are you doing...bringing your own photographer or using the resort's?

most of the members who are on this forum and getting married at EDR are bringing their own photographer...

Julie's wedding is in May and she is using Elizabeth Medina.

Leigh Miller has done a GORGEOUS wedding there.

Both ladies are members of the forum.

    good luck!

Does anyone know if the photographer is allowed to come on to EDR just for the day, or has to be staying at the resort as a guest?

      Thanks!

nah, you probably just need them there 1 or 2 nights depending on if you have a welcome/rehearsal dinner the night before...then you can do a trash the dress shoot the morning after the wedding.

            Thanks for the info!

I'm not sure if bringing our own photographer is really feasible for us unfortunately. Financially speaking we can't spend $3,000+ US, resort fees, travel etc etc on photography when we're already spending so much on the vacation/wedding etc.

Anyhoo, from what I've been able to find on the photographer's website and by doing some general research, the pics aren't exactly what I'd hoped for (a little too posed for my liking), but hopefully if I'm specific enough with my requests and have our family take some pics too, I'm sure we'll get some really nice shots. If they're absolutely terrible, I'll don my dress again and have a local photographer take some nice pics by the lake here!

Anyway, once I'm married, I'll be able to post some resort photographer pics for future EDR brides!

              Hey everyone!!

              So I'm back :)
I have saved the date now to April 5th, 2009. (Palm Sunday), I wonder if that will raise any eyebrows. But oh well. Anyway, I need some help, Especially from those of you who just got married or are very close to getting married at EDR. WHAT IS THEIR CURRENT PHOTOGRAPHER POLICY....now? Unfortunetly, their policy changes way to often for me to keep up. What other fees have you guys been told of, besides reserving a room for your photographer for X number of nights??

              Thanks so much

This probably has the most current info on photographers. You may get more responses posting on that thread as well, as this thread has become quite outdated with the policy changes you mentioned.
