We went

Fireynurse, what did you pick from the menu? I just got this list and have no idea where to begin on picking...
We went with the surf and turf theme for the whole dinner, we figured it was a safe way for people to have something they liked, either steak or seafood. We had Sea scallop ceviche to start, lobster bisque for soup, surf and turf for main and the raspberry tiramisu for dessert. We chose coconut for our cake flavour and it was also amazing! I can't comment on the food myself as I am a vegetarian and I had food off that menu but I know that every person in our wedding group raved about the food, even the soup! The dessert was apparently so tasty that people ate mine and my hubby's while we were away doing pictures.

I am getting married at the palace on july 5th. I was wondering if there were any words of advice.

I have planned most of the wedding (just finished the flowers) and am currently looking for an outside photographer and videography. I love all the recommendations on here so thanks!

As for the resort, we have been there 2 times before and love it. We are really excited...the only hick up right now...for those planning weddings...tell guests to book rooms asap! We are 2 and a half months away and there are no rooms avaliable at the palace....

for OTT bags... we are really wanting to do this...but I was wondering what type of things past brides have put in them???

:D

I agree , I think I am going to go with the spanish guitar , I had assumed i was going to pick the violin first but now thinking about it it seems natural and keeping with the natural spanish theme.

Also Is anyone doing a mid reception entertainment , My FI is Italian and most weddings here have Italian dancers or some form of entertainment is expected . I had already planned on getting the mariatchi band to play as we left the church , but spanish dancers would be intresting for the reception

Thanks for any input

Hey ladies!

I am leaving Wednesday for Mexico! My wedding is on May 4th and I am using the resort photographer, DJ and spa for my hair. I will let you future brides know how it goes since I know there is a lot of negative feedback about them all. Hopefully I have some positive stuff to bring back! xo

We did

FireyNurse, thank you so much for the menu! Can I also ask if you hired a DJ for your reception or had any live music for ceremony or reception? We are thinking of getting the DJ and light up dance floor but I find it very expensive....
We did the iPod and made our own playlists, ill attach them here. The sound system they have is incredible, massive speakers and we controlled the volume, it was perfect! we put only the two playlists on the ipod and that was it, dinner and then dance, this way even if someone wanted to look for music or change the song it didnt matter, it was all our music. we had no issue with anyone doing this anyway, just one rather intoxicated older guest who was at one time 'looking for 50's music' lol, we said no there wasnt any! We considered the dance floor but after considering cost and asking around on here about people's opinion on it we went with dancing on the sand as everyone had said such great things about it! Some people kicked off their shoes, some didn't, but all had an amazing time. They completely rake and made sure the sand is soft with no rocks or anything. Here are our playlists: 400 400 400

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
