As far as the DJ, we used them from the resort, and they were great! They kept everyone up and dancing the whole night (we had a 5 hour reception 6:30-11:30). Because we could not get in direct contact with them before we went down to Mexico (despite several attempts through the WC) we made sure to download songs onto our iphone that we needed for our special dances (first dance, father-daughter, etc) and ones our friends/we love, and he gladly played them for us. It was $580 for the first two hours and $110 each additional hour.

For outside DJ vendors, do double check with outside prices. I have heard they need a day pass purchase and I have heard something about "electricity" prices. Not to scare you, just a heads up.

As far as the room situation. I had sent a request for room blocks for certain groups (ie. younger friend party group, parent groups-separate areas for divorced parents, and our room-which we wanted away from others). In the end they kind of accommodated. All the rooms that needed separate beds had them, but a few "couple" rooms had two doubles instead of a king. If you feel that it is imperative that elderly guests, or special accommodation guests need the one bed or any special arrangements, my suggestion would be to detail that in their room booking notes, as well as call down to the resort and speak with the front desk/reservations manager. Of course, still send that information to the WC when they ask for it (she requested ours approximately a month before we were heading down).

Hope that helps!

Hi Ladies, I am sooo happy i stumbled across this forum!!

I too am getting married at the Palace, My wedding date is set for July 7/ 2010.

As I have chosen to have a destination wedding a few of my close friends and family members are unable to attend. I am looking into a way we can have our wedding posted live on-line. Have any of you heard of thishuh.gif I am open to opinions and suggestions and look forward to hearing from you.

FYI- I have hired style-ish.com from seattle to photograph my wedding, Take a look if your looking for a photographer. There prices are very very reasonable and you get two photographers as they are a married couple- not just one:)

Happy Wedding Planning!!!

Thanks breens for the helpful info.

I am going to let my guests know that they may have to deal with double beds but tell them to go ahead and request what they want. We will see what happens!!!!!

Ok... that is off my list of things to worry about.

Thanks girls!

Hey ladies, just wanted to let you know I finally heard back from my WC Gabriella... I actually had my travel agent contact the resort for me, and the same day I asked for her help, I got an email from Gabriella... I should've asked for help a lot sooner!! So my day is coming up really soon but I feel a whole lot better now that I've confirmed some of the last few details.. :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
