However, like yourself, I'm a UK bride to be, and I've decided I want to get an outside vendor. Moon Palace don't let you use outside vendors, however if they are a guest at the hotel, there hasn't been a problem in the past...but it just means you need to pay for your photographers accommodation...so it does work out pretty expensive...i've worked out for Elizabeth Medina to do my wedding, for 6 hours, then her accommodation at moon palace, then TTD session the next day, it will be £3000 (GBP). It is alot of money, and I know there are cheaper photographers there, its just totally down to personal preference.

As for the gazebo's, I like the Tucan one best...because it has the big red walk for you to walk down!

So when are you getting married lady?
Wedding is booked for June 17th next year, im so excited now !!Having found this site im really glad we chose to have a destination wedding, all my questions are getting answered and there are no negatives!
Thanx for the link to the photos will check it out now.
I was leaning towards the Tucan Gazebo.... Think you just made up my mind for me!!!!
When are you getting married? Have yiu been to the moon palace before?

I see you're from Long Island.. I'm a native long islander. =] I kinda miss it every now and again... haha..

btw... just went out and got martha's new summer wedding mag... i am only going to start reading it AFTER i do the laundry... !
Weird Ive never heard of Trash the Dress. Do you really trash the dress? haha. im intrigued by this now.

Thats funny what part of L.I. are you from originally? We are thinking of moving to NC after we get married and I graduate from Grad school. But i dont know. My fiance is an architect and hes better off near NYC. I just want a big house that doesnt cost as much as it does here...its rediculous. I can dream though can't I.

You should google Trash the Dress and I'm sure you will come up with lots of links to photographers who have done the shots. You can also search within the forum for what other girls have done.

My impression of a TTD shoot isn't so much that the purpose is to ruin the dress -- but rather -- to get beautiful and artistic shots without having to worry about the dress getting dirty or sandy or muddy or wet... I'm from Seattle so a lot of girls doing their TTD shoots play around in the downtown urban areas (where you wouldnt want a wedding dress...) or on railroad tracks or on our rocky beaches. In Mexico, I've seen girls on the beach, in the pool, in caves, in the jungle... Really, the sky is the limit ... and it gives you some awesome looking shots.

We've been to the MP twice. The beach is fine if you want to lay out and relax. There is seaweed, both on the beach and in the water, its not everywhere in the water, just kinda in patches, so if you wanted to swim you could. Also, they have big tractors come by and sweep the beach every day, so its not terrible, but the water is more green thatn the beautiful blue you see in pics. There are a bunch of pictures of the beach in the TripAdvisor photos (also good pictures of other stuff at the hotel):

One question: If we pick the "free" wedding package, do we have to put any money down to reserve our date (since they require 50% down 14 days after confirmation?) Just curious how much $$ we would need to fork out up front.

Thanks for your help guys! :)

Our wedding isn't til 2010, quite alot of our families are going too, and we only just set the date earlier this year, so we are giving everyone enough time to save with a view to booking it all in may next year. Also gives us time to save for it..people always think you go abroad to get married for it to be cheaper...but thats not really the case if you chose mexico!lol

Ive not been to mp before, but i know a few people who have been. One couple, and the other girl went in a group for a girlie holiday...everyone loved it!

Whats your thoughts on photographer and reception while your there then? I really want an outdoor reception! Just depends how many people go, because it is pretty expensive, so will only do it if enough people go so we can scrap the reception back home for it!

With the free wedding package you are not required to put any money down, but they still want your credit card info, in case you don't cancel atleast 45 days out or just don't show up...they will charge you a fee then.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
