Hi Ladies,

I know this is a Moon Palace forum but I am also a Palace Resort future bride. I am getting married at Isla Mujeres Palace but there is very little information on weddings there since it's such a new resort. I know the pricing, information, etc is the same for all Palace Resorts so I hope you don't mind me joining this one!

For anyone that has purchased a package.....do you know how big the Large One Tier Cake is? I read about 65 pages of this forum over the past two days and I think I am going cross-eyed so please forgive me if someone else asked this question! It sounds like you can't take what you get in the package and upgrade, right? I have about 40 guests coming and I don't think a one tier cake will feed everyone. I want to try and get as much of a budget in my head before I head to Mexico and get a bunch of surprise charges that I wasn't planning on!

Also, I got to view Moon Palace back in May and I tried to take pictures. Tropical Storm Arthur was putting a damper on the day, but I did get some pictures if anyone is interested.

Thanks for your help ladies. :)

Has anyone received any coorespondence with WC Claudia lately? I sent her a couple of emails a couple of weeks ago. She briefly responded to a follow up asking me to resend my inquiries and have yet to hear anything from her since.

I still haven't heard anything from Mr. Mario either.... sad.gif

I am looking for more details on the Grand side. I know there hasn't been much official information released, but is there anywhere over there that would be a good location for the rehearsal dinner? I have photos of the rooftop deck/bar above the carribean restaurant, but I have been told that can't be used for a big group...anyone else know anything?

I am 6 months out and am definitely hitting the wedding planning mode!

We have reserved the Grand Side for our stay. Hoping that we get it as I hear it is amazing and private.

If you hear any further details or photos - please post as I know there will be many brides wanting to take a peak.

Thanks wink.gif

Hello Bride-To-Be

Actually my FI and I will be at the resort when you get married.

A beach cocktail party sounds nice - What is the set-up and cost for that?
Whereabouts on the beach will you have it?

Party Hopper - Ok so from what I have heard through word of mouth is that the the hotel has a PH bus that leaves from MP and takes you to Cancun to enjoy the nightlife. I believe it costs btwn $45-65 per person which includes your transport to and from, drinks and preferred seating at each club.

I don't know any of this info first hand - but he hope to join in while we are there if it is available.

Lets keep each other posted if we hear more.

No I have not received a quote yet. I asked my WC to look into for me as we are very interested in having both set-ups - especially being on Terrace Venado - there is not better way to take advantage of the sites.

If we hear anything we will keep eachother posted!

Take Care

I didn't ask what side it is on. I really dont care, but i do know that it is on the same side as the laud ballroom. As for the set up there i no extra fee if you go with basic set up, as far as i know( i have the 25 rooms book so i get the FREE parties) i did ask and she said no extra fees if we go with the basic white. hope that helps. the party hopper sounds fun. my girlfriend said she did that when she stayed some where else and had a great time. I'm looking forward to going to cancun agian me and all my girlfriends went 10 years ago and said we would come back!!! So look out!!!

Thanks - we couldn't be happier!!

Outside Photographer - Actually I read on the forum that another MP Bride emailed her WC about her outside photographer - she posted her actual email and the WC's response - they were ok with it.

So when I spoke with my WC over the phone I just came right out and told her (it was also in my initial email) She was ok with it - I think because I told her right away that they are booked as guests and staying at the hotel.

Because we have a Deluxe Wedding Package that includes photography - I requested to use that photog from our package for our Welcome Dinner and it was not a problem - she has since confirmed this.

Wedding Ceremony - Chapel Gazebo

Our WC advised us that once a Gazebo is booked there is no chance that another wedding will take place within the area - meaning there is no overlap. That was a concern of my and it was discussed with our WC - this is why it is so important to book early and reserve your request before another Bride does. It is kind of like 'you snooze you loose'

Sounds like you are planning the same day as mine - best of luck
Laura

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
