The seashell you purchase from Micheal's are from the state correct?  I was afraid of clearing custom with the shell. So you didnt have a problem with that?

WARNING!! PHOTO & VIDEO AT DREAMS CANCUN

For more than 7 years the AM Resorts including Dreams Cancun, had as Wedding photography supplier (Juan Navarro) and as Wedding video supplier (cancunweddingvideo), with whom they worked with a great quality, always with great comments and recommendations from all the couples that were assigned to them by the Dreams Wedding department, and form the other resorts from AM Resorts (Secrets Silversands, Dreams Riviera, Secrets Maroma, Secretas Capri, Now Jade y Now Sapphire) they were collaborating in a very important way for creating a prestige to these hotels.

As of February 1st, and with any prior notification, Cancunweddingvideo was informed that he was no longer supplier for Dreams Cancun.

The company that was hired for covering this service, was dedicated to corporate and commercial video, it was NEVER dedicated to any social video, and this has been noticed in the quality of their video, as of today they have done 8 weddings at Dreams Cancun, and they have had to refund the money of 3 weddings.

As of March 14, Mr. Juan Navarro was informed that he was no longer supplier of Dreams Cancun, the company that was hired for covering the wedding photography is the same that takes the photography at the pool. This will make that the quality of the wedding photography will be decreasing.

Unfortunately this dispositions will be reflected in the rest of the hotels of AM Resorts.

We write this to warn you, please as a bride to be, demand that you have the same quality of photography and video that you deserve.

Here are the links of the sites of the previous and the actual suppliers of photography and video. Make your own judgement.

This has made me so upset!  Not only do I ask, how can they do this to the brides, but why on Earth would they do this to Mike and Juan?  They have dedicated their time and services to Dreams and have an amazing reputation for quality service.  I am sure every bride who recently booked, did so after extensive review of Dreams and their services.  No doubt they became excited after seeing the amazing videos Mike creates and the fantastic photography of Juan.  Dreams owes many of their future bookings to Mike and Juan and now these brides are not going to get a chance at the same quality as the rest of the brides.  I fear for my wedding as well.  "Supposedly" we are already under contract with Mike, but we've been emailed already with confusion issues, so I'm not surprised if they continue when we get to the resort.  I just don't want any surprises like that.  I bet they are just using their commercial photographers because it saves them money, but they will probably still charge the brides the same.  At the very least, I am happy that Muitoquerida is happy with her video.  Sorry for the vent guys.  I know alot of this is out of our hands, but first the stupid rocks, then the graffiti on the rocks, then tearing down the gazebo in the middle of people's weddings, now the rumors of it closing (although, not one person at Dreams that I have talked to has confirmed this, even when I tell them that Cecilia was the one who told one of our future brides... Claudia even said she hasn't heard about this), now this.. this isn't fair to the brides or the vendors involved!  Who's next?!?!

Oh man that is concerning news! Claudia has not told me such news and we just exchanged email yesterday regarding photographer and videographer. I will wait for her respond regarding this issue and will update soon. I booked with dreams and contracted them last year in June hopefully Juan has to abide by our contract. I really like his work and will be very disappointed that I will not have him for our wedding.  Will keep you guys posted!

OK - this is absurd! Claudia did let me know about the videography previously, only because I asked since I had received emails from both vendors and wasn't sure who was included in the package. I was disappointed about that because looking at the previous vendor's video samples, I was very happy with his work and did consider hiring outside of the package, but figured, its ok, the new vendor hopefully does just as good work. Now the photography!!!! I want Juan Navarro to do our photography! I love his photos! This has me enraged! And its nice that we find out on here, and not from the WC. Looking at the quality between the previous & current vendors, I honestly feel like they are trying to save money, but meanwhile are going to charge us just the same! Its just not right! Whats going to be next??? Are they going to tear the gazebo down!?!?! I'm sorry, I'm just mad & upset. Has anyone confirmed this with Dreams? I'm still waiting on responses for emails I sent to the WC weeks ago and my wedding is in April msncry.gif

Me too, Claudia is really taking forever to respond to emails. I would understand if my wedding was a long ways away but it is only 8 weeks away! And to not find from her that Juan will not be our photographer makes me so mad. The only reason I did not get an outside vendor for photography is because I loved his work. I have been mad for the whole day thinking about it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
