Ladies you're making me worry for you, I feel so bad this gazebo renovation has made you question your choice in resorts!! Dreams Cancun isn't the fanciest but the setup and location is ideal. The size is perfect as you'll always run into someone from your party so they always feel included. The resort itself isn't a party spot but if you have a fun group you can make your own party. Plus if there are couples there they might just want a relaxing vacation environment, not every night needs to be a party. It's so close to all the action for those that do want to go clubbing they have many options, I highly recommend Bulldog, we had a blast. If you can work out a deal to get your group in there for a decent rate then that's perfect. Everyone at Dreams really tries to insure you have a great time and they provide excellent service, they'll take care of you. Don't worry about your group having fun, if they can't have fun in that beautiful location then something's wrong with them, not with your planning!!

Seriously...this forum is so great!! Although I am still worried about my choice, you girls sure do know how to make a person feel better. I definitley wouldn't talk to any of my friends that are coming about this because I don't want to make them have any doubts...but to be able to chat to other brides who have been down this road before makes it easier!!

Thanks so much for your input:) I'm going to stick with what i've chosen & if my guests don't have a good time there then maybe they are just being hard to please. Its all about my FI & I and celebrating with the ones we love...+ the weather in cancun HAS to be better then the weather in Canada in October...lol

      You girls are the best!!!!

this is ridiculous! Why are you constructing a new gazebo?? I wish I can get money back. I'm getting married in May. I really hope it would be done. Although it is not as nice as the old one.

i'll say it again girls, the appeal of the gazebo was always its location, not the gazebo itself. your weddings will be amazing and beautiful, rest assured! you will no longer have to worry about chipping/peeling paint and dangling wires showing in your pictures! of course these are things i didn't notice AT ALL on wedding day (and only noticed in pics after being nit-picky) ... on wedding day i didn't notice ... they were the furthest thing from my mind, as i'm sure any gazebo imperfections will be on your day.

and i guarantee your guests will all think it's beautiful, no matter what the gazebo looks like. most people haven't been to a DW before, and the experience/location just blows them away.

check out the dangling wires behind us ... we don't seem to mind, lol (could we look any happier?)! later, those wires drove me insane bc they are dangling behind our heads in every single gazebo pic!

and for those of you who are bummed the palapas are coming off the terrace, look at the gross, chipping paint job on the tops of them as seen in this pic of my father/daughter dance! i guarantee you won't miss them.

So according to FB, the gazebo is now complete but no one has posted pics yet. I watched these videos posted by a FB user, and it made me excited all over again! Dreams really is beautiful! cancun- pictures by Ilse12659 - Photobucket

We were just thinking that we'd like to have one of those rooms so there is enough room for our friends/family to come hang out if it rains etc...

Does anyone have a picture of the two level room or honeymoon suite...so i can compare?

                Thanks!!
I went on a site visit and saw both the honeymoon suite and the jr suite, I recommend the jr suite its all the same except for the jacuzzi in the jr suite. Make sure its in the towers

meldal, i never saw the two level honeymoon suite while i was there (that's in the pyramid building), but we had the junior jacuzzi suite in the tower and it was plenty big enough to have people come back to the room to hang out. and honestly, i think it would better serve a party atmosphere because everyone would be on one level, kwim? in the videos link that chipotle posted, the junior suite is in the first video.

Thanks!! I looked through the videos as well & was thinking about upgrading to that one. Its a Junior Jacuzzi Suite?? Thats all the room we'll need. I just wanted some seating other then the bed.

yeah, junior jacuzzi suite in the tower. the balcony is pretty large too (that's where the jacuzzi is) and has a small table and a couple chairs out there too. also, if you get a room in the tower, there is breakfast every morning right downstairs in the lobby area ... not as extensive as the buffet at world cafe, but definitely great to be able to just roll downstairs, eat something on the terrace, and hit the small infinity pool. oh, and there's a bar down there too.
