Our contract says 36 full color photos, but at the moment we do not have an outside photographer or we did not purchase any of the 5 photos options because we thought the ones that came with our package would be ok. What does everyone think?

I was wondering the same thing. It seems everyone else is getting outside photogs (i just can't spend the extra dough). I hope the Resort photographer is good. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

OMG check out my ticker!!! smile29.gif

We are leaving on Sunday for Dreams, I am getting soo excited!! :)
I am also getting married on the beach and was wondering that as well. I talked to another bride on the forum who had her reception on the beach and she said that the DJ supplied most of the lighting which worked out wonderfully. I was going to skip the DJ, but after talking to her, I now think that it may be cheaper to have the DJ than to pay to rent the sound system and for extra lighting...just a thought.

I planned my wedding a little earlier for this exact reason. I do not think the lights under the table will help you out at all for pictures anyway. If you are concerned about photos then you should either get extra lighting OR like you said let the DJ provide some lighting. The sun does not set completely until after 7ish during the summer months so I am getting important photos and video in before that time.

I requested that she put 6 voltives on each table just to illuminate it at night.

Congratulations, you will have a wonderful time. We are leaving on April 30, wedding is on May 2nd. We are scheduled to have the ceremony at 7, but are thinking of asking to switch out the cocktail hour for maybe sound system for reception or maybe some other things. We are planning on the reception being at the terrace. I thought they provided lights, but we are now concerned they do not. Does anyone know?

Hey Ladies,

I did get some responses to the questiosn I sent Claudia (Via my TA) & after my TA had to keep e-mailing her..she finally responded.

I posted this on the Dj Doremixx v. Mannia thread, but I wanted to post it here also.

I said this to her:

I booked DJ Doremixx as my DJ..He;s not going to be arriving until around 6pm to set up...Will I still need a day pass for him.

She said:

He is not approved, we use DJ Mannia

So there goes that!! :-( It stinks because the price difference is so big. Even the sound system for 3 hours is more expensive then he is. So I wanted to let you know that if you want him you may have to fight for him a little. I think My TA may just to get her to come around, although, I'm not sure.

I also said that I wanted to extend the reception one hour. We will not need any servers or even a bar set up, just the services of my DJ

and she said:

With or with out servers it's $10 + all that tax crap that charge. WTF!

So needless to say, we will just take the party to the lobby..LOL

I think once you get down there, you'll be face to face and can fight for more things. I am tempted to book the DJ and fioght for him when I get there. If I lose then I'll lose like $150 bucks, but who says I'll lose?? LOL

I still have so much to do and I am losing my ambition. I was so gung ho in the begining, and now I am just plain lazy :-)

I just got reply from Cecilia too.

As I mentioned before, I got the Ultimate package, and only 16 people including ourselves will be there. I asked for the 4-person credit, and Cecilia said all she can do is to give us a room upgrade (just the 2 of us, not the guests). Do you think this is a fair trade?

Also, I confirmed with her that the sound system at Ceremony does come with a sound technician. Did anyone else use the sound guy before? Did anyone tip him?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
