So after thinking over the exchanges that were offered, I was feeling like they were not at all comparable. I did a quick cost analysis , which I emailed to Cecilia, that basically showed the original cost of what was included in the package vs. the cost of the exchange and the variance. It turns out that the value of what I was offered was more than $1,000 less than what was originally offered. I was able to use this information to negotiate an extra hour at the reception at no cost. So, my reception is now going to run 4 hours, which I couldn't be happier about! 3 hours is just too short considering that dinner will probably take close to an hour.

I also asked her about using the sound system. Some girls on the site mentioned that there was someone there to runt he sound system for them. However, I was informed that this will not be the case and that we will be responsible for running the music.

Lastly, I inquired about having a rehearsal dinner and received menus for Himitsu, Oceana and Seaside. If anyone would like to see these, send me a message and I can email them to you.

How did you go about negotiating your extra hour. I am in process of starting that. In addition, here is a list of questions that I emailed Claudia and she has finally responded after 2 weeks..

hi Claudia,

Please forward the wedding contract based on the amount of people I have advised you of.

Can you please send me the contract for this?

Contract attached

How much are the child meals each?

50% from menu price

During cocktail hour, I will be taking pictures so I don't see why we would need to pay for our alcohol as we wont be drinking. Can we exclude my fiance and myself from the cost of that?. Also, the seven children attending the wedding will not be drinking either, are they also included in this fee. Please provide me with an overall cost for 40 people who will be drinking.

NO ANSWER shitfan.gif !!!

How many people does one bottle of champagne serve?

01 bottle serves 5-6 people

How much was the ILLUMINATED dance floor and DJ Mania all together?

The dance floor will be $ 800 usd + 10% tax

NO DJ COST!!shitfan.gif

Since I wont be using your photographer or the makeup artist, just the videographer. Can I use some of that credit towards the centerpieces that I'm considering ordering from you? Or can I bring in someone who can make me the centerpieces at a less cost?

we can provide centerpieces with sand & candles!! THATS NOT WHAT I ASKED!shitfan.gif

Do your centerpieces that you quoted me at for $150.00 each also include small voltive candles to go around them?

yes we can do that

I DONT want to decorate the gazebo, I saw it and its beautiful as is.

Ok

I do want the sound system during ceremony.

Ok

I am attaching a picture of the bouquet I want. In hot pink Gerbera Daisys. I would also want that flower used for the groom, (see photo) Is that a problem? Will this bouquet be included with the package?

Yes it can be part of the package not a problem

Click the image to open in full size.

You sent me pictures of the cakes. I was wondering if these were included in the package?

We have cakes included in the package and we have cakes with additional cost

I like cake number 6. Is that made out of fondue and are those flowers around it? I also like cake #8 but with just 2 tiers, I am enclosing a photo of something similar to #8 only 2 tiers, I like the pink dots going around, with maybe just 2 Daisys. If that would be enough for the amount of guests we would have. Do you have pictures of the cakes that come with the package? or will those be to small to even think of ordering?

The cake you want will cost $ 160 usd. Please find the cakes that are part of the package

Click the image to open in full size. THIS IS THE CAKE I WANTED IN A 2 TIER.

HOPING YOU GIRLS CAN SEE THIS LINK, ITS THE CAKES THAT ARE PART OF THE PACKAGE... NO FEE

http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik....1&disp=vah&zw

Since I'm having desert, is it even worth upgrading the cake?

As you prefer, most of the time, cake is just for “pictures” guests get full when desert comes

Tables where we sit, are those for 6 people of for 8?

In a round table we can accomodate 6,7,8,9, or 10 people, table is the same size... OK WHAT SIZE!!!shitfan.gif

With my ceremony ending at nine. Thats a bit early. Is there anyway we can extend it for an extra hour? Whats the latest to run a wedding at your hotel?

additional hours for reception will be $ 10 usd + 15% service + 10% tax per person per hour

Do you provide the Unity Candle that will be used during the ceremony?

No ....you need to bring this

Is it better to do Unity Candle or Sand ceremony?

Its a bit windy, Sand is better

What do you need from me for a symbolic ceremony?

We don’t need anything

I belong to an online group of Dreams Cancun Brides and one of them told me they just recently got married there and left her cake cutting set there along with her cake topper that said Just Married. Do you have this for anyone on our site that wishes to use it?

Sure of course

Will the groom be given a room the night before as stated in your package?

We will check it the day before and its subject to availability

Is the Gazebo pathway to windy for the flower girl to drop petals?

Sometimes it is very windy, I do not recommend

Also, can we incorporate children into our symbolic ceremony? Has that ever been done before?

yes, its beautiful

Since I am having my ceremony at 4 then moving to the Garden Area for cocktails, will I be provided with furniture for my guests to sit?

We will set up cocktail tables, chairs with white covers around the area

I will be having reception on beach, will it be to cold?

No, May is a warm month, its the most nicest

How much is Mariachi? Can I bring in my own Mariachi since my uncle who lives in Cozumel is part of Mariachi.

They need to pay the fees to the unions of musicians (permits), they need to check if they authorize them to play in cancun Areashitfan.gif

wow you actually got a good amount of answers! LOL ... it's a sin how easily impressed we are!

for anyone who had their reception on the tower terrace and had just one long table, where did bride & groom sit? in the middle? on one end? or did the two of you have a separate sweetheart table? did you have your coupled guests sit across from each other or next to each other? i'm so confused about how to do my seating chart! just went out to dinner with 16 people from tom's family over the weekend, and it felt so crowded sitting at a long table! i can't imagine what it will be like in a big wedding dress and with 30 people!

Is there a reason you are only having one table? We used round tables and then we had our own sweetheart table.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
