what i still don't understand about the 2 weddings per day is that if they are only 2 hours apart, how can you be sure you will get to have your cocktail hour and reception where *you* wanted it? what if the other bride got her details into contract first? if their wedding is at 4, cocktail at 5, and reception 6-9, you clearly couldn't have your reception where theirs is because they'd overlap. honestly, there aren't that many options, and beach and ballroom were both out of the question for me, so personally i would have had to choose a different date in that scenario.
Based on my understanding, Gaby said that she takes 1 wedding per day and her boss, Claudia, takes 1 wedding per day. I was uncertain of the same thing...but she assured me that the resort is big enought. She also advised me that both weddings could NOT be booked for the same time. That is probably so each wedding group can have whereever they want for their ceremony (gazebo or beachfront.) Regarding the cocktail hour, if both weddings are at different times, then you shouldnt run into eachother during cocktails. For the reception, I bet it is first come first serve (or whoever signs the contract first) for where your reception is held. Having been down at dreams, I am sure it will be a great time, but I think I may be unimpressed with how Gaby does things. I guess that means she gets less of a tip...if one at all. I will be speaking with management the day I get down there to have a word with them. The managers seem to take the clients side as opposed to their own employees. (I generally hate that except for now because I am the client!! hahaha)

You can take a CANCUN public bus that will take you to Walmart. The bus # 2says WALMART IN THE FRONT. You just ask at the hotel where the bus stop is. It is around the corner. The fare is about 6.50 mexican pesos.

I am really dreading haing to drag a million bags down there. I'm already going to have alot with my OOT bags and it's contents. I know I am just being lazy, but what else is new!! LOL

So if anyone knows how far it is, i would love some info!! :-)

Or you can get a cab for about 5-10 bucks which is what I reccommend if you will have breakable stuff. I went on the bus once and I won't ever do it again. It was super crowded, standing room only, and they guy drove like 60 miles per hour then slammed on his breaks at the stops. I thought I was going to die and was shooting my husband death glances throughout it because it was his idea lol.

Hi ladies,

I might get relocated here from Dreams Tulum because of the closing. Just wondering 2 things.

Anyone getting married on Nov 8, 08? If so, where are you doing it and what time?

Anyone know if you can have your reception indoors at this hotel for about 120 people?

Thanks so much, I think knowing this stuff will make me feel better....

yes, you can definitely have your reception indoors in their ballroom (which also happens to be the only air-conditioned indoor option there). i'm sure it can accommodate that many people. i will try to find the thread with ballroom pics for you.

edit, i found it here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15854

my heart goes out to you dreams tulum brides ... i know every bride chooses their location for a reason. this is just awful, and i hope it's remedied shortly. i know i would have turned completely apesh*t bridezilla if faced with that!

alin & mako, i'm sorry to report that i think we have another BDW bride at dreams cancun on nov. 8th (according to this post: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t24950). the upside for you is that they will do 2 weddings per day at DC, so you may still be able to have that date, and unless the other wedding has a large guest list as well, i think you can be almost certain that the ballroom will be available (seems that most people, at least on this forum anyway, prefer to have their receptions outdoors, and not many people head to DC with such a large party).

Settled! I'm not worrying about centerpieces. I might swing by Walmart and see if they have anything I like but I'll leave it alone otherwise.

For Rosean's, they did petals on the table and a hurricane vase with sand in it. There are pics where you can kind of see them in on her review: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t24623-2. You might be able to see them in Kat or Dawn's pics...?

You will have such an amazing wedding, we will all be thinking about you!!!! Good luck and hurry back :-)

Mummergirl, thank you so much for the links! It was sooo helpful to see the thread on all the pics from DC. I will try to get a hold of RJ & Stephanie to find out what time they are getting married and where. Glad to know there is an inside option that my FI is completely set on.

So frustrating to not know where I'm getting married! I really really appreciate your help. :)

So..I am off of work today and thinking about my Wedding (As usual) and I have some Random Questions....If anyone knows any of these answers that would be Fabulous!! :-)

So..I see alot of girls making Menu cards...At what point do I find out what my Menu is? Does the WC let me know as it gets closer?

Does the Officiant show up for the rehersal? Do I have to contact him directly..or does the WC do that?

And what about Cash...When you got to dreams and met with your WC...How did you pay off your balance for the wedding? Did you use your Debit/Credit card? Did you use cash?

And last but not least..For the girls that Bought the Bose Portable docking station...Did you plug that in somewhere or use batteries? And can you get a Microphone to hook up to it? I would rather do that then rent their system just for the Mic. I am renting the Mic thing for the ceremony only.

Although, If I have the reception on the beach I think i have to have a DJ....Right? Wouldn't it seem silly without a DJ on the beach? I'm confused. I'm trying to stay on a Budget so I can do my AHR, but I also don't want to "Cheap" out on my Mexico wedding..Since that is our real wedding. I don't know...If I could be rich, this would all be no problem!! LOL

Thanks in advance for any info Ladies!! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
