Wow - been a while since we last posted - busy busy busy !!! Trying to tie up all those little loose ends...

A few questions for those of you who have already been married...

1. With the Tres Leches cake, is it strong enough to support a cake topper? Some brides have indicated that it can be somewhat moist - even soggy - just don't want the topper to sink into the cake. Thoughts?

2. Do they decorate the cake by default, or are you just given a plain cake and it is up to you to specify all the decorations, such as flowers, etc?

3. For those of you who used Claudia Rodriguez's photography, did you meet with the photographer in the days before the wedding to discuss shots that you wanted, or did you do that the day of, or via email, or just go with the flow? Did you bring a list of shots?

Thanks much - sorry we haven't been posting lately... Time's a flying !!!

This cake is meant to be moist, 3 milks cake, very typical in Mexico.

I did not have it as my wedding cake so I cannot answer the cake topper question. I usually like this cake though.

They give you options for the cake. Since she knew what flowers I was using for the wedding, she chose something similar for the cake.

We only corresponded via email. I wasn't worried at all since I knew her work. We spoke about it a bit when we met when I was getting ready, but she's the pro and she has done so many weddings there.

Thanks much - sorry we haven't been posting lately... Time's a flying !!!

as paula mentioned there is a cake file with pics that shows different options.

Before I left for mexico, claudia set up a date and time for citlalli and her assistant to come to the resort and meet with me. I think it was the day after we got there, we talked about different shots and she showed me some albums, etc... If you mention to claudia that you'd like to meet with her beforehand, I'm sure that won't be a problem.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
