I was reading on someone else's thread that they had to put a major credit card number at the front desk and they took out 250 to hold in case of charges incurred during the stay. Do they do that at Dreams? Just wondering so I can make sure my guests are aware to have extra money on their cards.

They can bog off if they try that with me or any of my guests because that is ripe for credit card fraud - if they ask say you don't have one! God everyone is paying enough to stay there without them starting that game

it's no more than a half an hour to the resort from the airport. Maybe the persons review you read was talking about dreams tulum? that would be about an hour and a half away.

You do have to give a card, with us they wanted to put a hold on as much as we owed for the wedding, but I brought travelers checks to pay for everything, so they ended up putting a hold on $200, I think. But I don't know if they did that with our guests, I think it might have just been us.

I don't really think its necessary for guests because it is all inclusive, so you really don't spend much money that you would have to charge it to your room.

I was just going over my list of the documentation we need to get married in Mexico and I think I know the answer to this but I just wanted to double check with you guys...

"What are the requirements to get a marriage license in Mexico?

Valid passport

Tourist Cards (blue sheets that you receive at the airport)

Apostille certified birth certificates for Bride & Groom

If applicable, final Record of Divorce

If applicable, Death Certificate

Health certificate and blood test provided by a Mexican Official*

Bride & Groom must arrive four business days prior to the ceremony! (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count). "

So here's my question...what is an Apostille certified birth certificate? I have a copy of my birth certificate...do I need to get it notarized or something?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
