I only have about 5 months until my wedding and I can not get in contact with the WC of Gran Caribe Real, Cancun. I don't know if I'm being over needy but I haven't even received a contract for the wedding. I don't know how it works...am I suppose to wait until I arrive three days before to make selection on things. I'm also getting worried because out of all the brides I have read so far in the forum, no one is getting married at Gran Caribe Real. I have not even sent out the invitations...please help me I don't know if I'm just overreacting. monkey.gif

Thank you

Ya know.. I was looking into the Gran Caribe Real way back when I was deciding and my FI and I called 2x and sent her numerous emails and she never got back to us. So we x'd them out of our list.

There is another girl here thats getting married there and she had no problem getting in touch with the WC. Maybe try doing a search of "Grand Caribe Real" and you can find her.

Thank u for responding, I feel so stressed out. The WC was responding little by little but now she is not responding to any of my emails. I did see where that girl asked if anyone has gotten married at Gran Caribe, but it said that she was getting married on April 19th so I don't think she'll respond if I ask her any questions, I'd be busy too. Thanks again = )

honestly, i wouldn't be willing to get married at a resort with a WC that was that unresponsive, especially if there weren't a lot of other brides that i could talk to about their positive experiences. i would be worried too! do you have a TA?

My advice is to call the manager of the resort and tell them that they are in jepordy of losing your business if you do not hear from the WC soon. I'm pretty sure you will get a response then. Especially because there are DOZENS of resorts that would love to host your wedding in Cancun. foshizzle.bmp

I agree - go over the WC's head to the hotel manager. More importantly, if it's been more than 2 weeks and you've heard nothing, despite calling and e-mails, I wonder if you want to consider switching. If it's this bad now, is it going to get any better?

That being said, if you really, really love the place, call the hotel manager, explain the problems and see if it doesn't improve.

Good luck, keep us posted!

that was exactly why we opted out of this place. We went there during our site visit and asked for her and she was too busy to meet us for 5 minutes. So we decided to contact her when we got back home and we didn't get ANY response. So I said.. ya know what? If she's going to be like this in the beginning, I don't wanna deal with this resort. Obviously with us being so far away, COMMUNICATION is KEY!

I agree.
Just call and ask to speak with the manager if they say she's busy again. Tell them you are a bride who is getting married there in FIVE weeks and have gotten ZERO responses within the last two weeks. That's just poor customer service. Sometimes my WC takes a few days to get back but never weeks.
I bet once you have the manager, all of that will change.
You are right to feel a little nervous but maybe the WC doesn't think it's as big of a deal (eventhough that is INSANE). Go straight to the manager! :)
Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
