Hey girls

I have just looked at weather predictions for Cancun in may/june, and see this is the rainy season there - i did not know this!! luckily we don't get married until 2010, and so haven't booked anything yet, but what do you guys think - should we change the date? the date doesn't mean anything to us - our anniversary is at the end of june, so didn't chose then as it's further in hurricane season.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Fiona!

I checked this link and it said there were 4 days with precip in May and 6 in June:

Cancun, Mexico Climate

I guess odds are on your side here, but know most places have a backup plan in case it does rain.

Decide how important it is to you to have it on the beach, gazebo, etc. knowing that you might have to resort to an indoor backup site.

I know some ladies on the site did it even later in the year and didn'thave any issues in the Cancun area.

I am so glad you posted this website! I am worried about rain too - I am sure your resort has a back up plan - mine does - but it just depends on if you are okay with getting married inside. I have been majorly stressing about the probability of rain - something out of our control LOL! This website says 0% chance of rain for our day though!! WOO HOO!!

Hey girls

well we are planning on getting married in moon palace in the gazebo, so do you think it would be alright to get married in that if it was raining?

Websites I've been on say when it does rain, it doesn't last long. I don't mind so much if it rains on other days!lol as long as its still warm! Just would obviously prefer to have a clear day for the wedding and wedding photos!

I was in Cancun 2 separate times on vacation in May and we never got a drop of rain for either stay. We wanted to get married in May but no luck sad.gif Already booked so chose to get married in June mainly because this is the VERY beginning of hurricane season. I am from new Orleans and hurricane season is A MAJOR issue when traveling for us. I am sure you know why..LOL!

I picked early May because I think its the right time of year. We tried to avoid spring break and have the wedding BEFORE college graduations. Of course we wanted to stay away from hurricane season as well. With an outdoor wedding, there is always the possibility of rain (no matter where you get married). Just make sure your venue has a back up plan.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
